Accel World - Chiyuri is safe! Are you ready for a second season?

Hello,

Today we'll talk about the 24th (final) episode of the spring season 2012 anime series Accel World that completes its run with a totally happy and unconclusive ending.

I suspected Chiyuri's power to be related to "time manipulation", but wasn't expecting her to reverse time in order to recover Haru's wings from Noumi's avatar.

I think that we underestimated the fierce and absolute will that Chiyuri can muster in order to achieve happiness together with her "friends".

I really think that the time manipulation power is really a nice fit for her considering that her biggest desire is to reverse back to the time when her, Taku and Haru were living happily together.

I'm still unsure about who is the guy that she prefer though, everything seems to imply that she loves Haru, but still....

By the way, yes Noumi is finally being eliminated from the game permanently. I enjoyed his final moments and I hope he'll recover his sanity now that he's back to be a normal boy.

As you can see here, even the great and cool Kuroyukihime isn't immune to a well prepared "love" declaration coming from the wimpy Haru.

I liked how Kuroyukihime is showing more and more of her human side, first by crying for Haru and soon after for Fuuko's encounter.

In the end, it seems that she is the one getting the biggest change/development in personality in this series, a lot more than the so-called protagonist.

Now what? Everything in the final segment of the episode is adjusted in order to give plenty of space for the development of a possible second season in the future.

There are more than enough volumes available and I'm fairly confident we'll be able to get some new content in this franchise considering the highly successfull sales (around 10K copies per volume).

I can't wait for the time when they'll reveal Kuroyukihime's real name. Fuuko called her "Sacchan", and I wonder if that could be an abbreviation for "Satsuki"?!

Concluding, Accel World is a fairly entertaining anime series (if we exclude the angst shown at the beginning of Noumi's arc) and a nice pick for anyone interested in a battle-focused anime with just a tiny bit of fanservice.

Visual Points : 915/1000 (I loved the quality of both animation and character design)

Audio Points : 880/1000 (Great opening/ending songs plus great voice acting)

Story Points : 820/1000 (Pretty standard fare, but with an interesting premise)

Entertainment Points : 790/1000 (The angst in Noumi's arc was really annoying)

Characters Points : 850/1000 (I liked pretty much every girl in this series.)

Final Points : 16.715/20.000

The series is ranked 46th over 182 series in my rankings (Updated to 21/09/2012 22:06)

if we couple Noumi's personality change post-Brain Burst with the stuff about memory loss, there are some interesting implications there...because theoretically, he should still be a boy tortured by his brother...

Memory loss is a bad card here, because losing here could destroy all the relationships built till now all at once...>_<

Well, he said "kill you like him", so I'm implying that he killed his brother Brain Burst world avatar and got free from his reign. The point is more about knowing his brother personality after losing the avatar right?

Well, it could always be Death Note-style memory loss. Misa was still in love with Light and still knew when she first saw him and stuff...

I thought he said that he was tormented by his brother all along and that Brain Burst just gave his brother another outlet and gave Noumi a way out.

That stuff is "unbelievable", but the sad thing is that I can sort of imagine this author pull such a trick. Don't you agree?

Mhn...not sure I remember anymore what they said, maybe I'm confusing with something else. If that's the case his situation is now quite worrying...even if I don't really care for him [/evil]

I told you that Chiyuri was a good girl. Was I right?

This is why you don't screw with time manipulation and you don't screw with memories...too many inconsistencies...

I think she said she figured it out when she first healed Noumi, so she technically betrayed them initially...just saying

I wouldn't mind Kuroyukihime killing Haru, but I can't accept the prediction you've just made.
Let's just make a tearjerk ending in which Haru dies while Kuroyukihime gets to level 10. Ok?

Overall...the second half of the show was really enjoyable. I wouldn't mind a second season

I would love to see Kuroyukihime and Fuuko's friendship develop and it would be funny to see her school friend get jealous over someone else rather than Haru for a change. Did you see those evil eyes when she was on the train?! *__* lol

Yeah, Megumi was awesome in that scene. She's the only real enemy for Haru in Kuroyukihime's conquest. To be honest, I would ship more a Megumi X Kuroyukihime compared to a Haru X Kuroyukihime..

Unfortunately we can't know, because they haven't revealed that even in the original light novel. Damn Author, he's playing with us...and I wonder if they'll go with "Kirigaya" as surname...

end it finally end one of my watch list anime accel world the ending was kind of nice showing a lot of the new character from the novel such as ardor maiden and ash roller show noumi change too he become completely different then what he used to be before he got that power i guess power do change people huh.the battle was nice the armament gale thruster is powerful if it doesn't have a fuel and just run endlessly a trade off for it's speed i guess haruyuki laser sword is outright powerful i guess the result of the incarnate system but still in the hand of someone like him might not be so powerful could have been better if someone else have it... can't believe he started talking about friendship in the middle of battle that seem ridiculous the opponent clearly hate that so why bother talking about it to him...speaking of which black vise and black lotus never have fought it is mostly just kuroyukihime attacking her with laser beam rather then a real fight if i was in accel world first thing i am going to do is fight with her she seem strong not sure about winning though...it was nice to see noumi actually got the punishment that was coming to him an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth...

That's quite a problematic situation, because everyone in Kuroyukihime's army is risking losing their memories after being defeated ingame. That's...harsh because it would destroy their friendship...

Well, Kuroyukihime vs Black Vise wasn't the real focus of the fight so they let him run away in order to do a better proper fight in the future. They will be the focus of the second season I fear.

have you forgot about the power which even omnipotent character can't touch?the almighty stronger than omnipotent plot armor doubt any of them would actually lose their memories the main one at least...

hmm black vise his body make it impossible for kuroyukihime to slash him vertically unless her swordmanship is high enough to accurately hit him hopefully haru become more of a badass and stop whining really...why can't we have a good version of gilgamesh from fate series imagine it overpowered,never whine,badass,and good too just remove the ego a little bit...
back to accel world a second season would be nice i guess haru harem would increase some more namely well since highly doubt this will get a second season and not that it would not be a big spoiler anyway ardor maiden...speaking of which if it got animated chrome disaster would appear well it is pretty much given anyway and of course the 6 king again it is pretty much known by everyone...and speaking of it i just knew that haru have leg fetish...

Well, Haru has Chrome Disaster inside him and if he manages to use that power instead of being controlled by it, maybe...

It will increase indeed as I'm speculating that Aqua Current will eventually be part of the main cast in a possible second season...*_*

hmm this is my opinion but haru is incapable of controlling chrome disaster he just lack the will and personality not to mention power to subdue chrome disaster if he can short of some king he can easily win against many opponent the only one that would be hard or incapable of being defeated is green grandee(surely),blue knight(maybe),black lotus(maybe)that is my opinion mainly because his fighting style is too messy to fought against the king attacking randomly would get a counter attack from blue knight,and green grandee would defend with his hardest shield(it have a name shown later in the novel)even though he can be defeated by attacking other part of the body not protected by the shield say his back though considering chrome disaster is like a wild beast defeating him would be hard...not sure about lotus but she is said to be the same level as blue knight as said by crikin...

aqua current is actually an important cast and not just random bodyguard but rather have a close relationship with our main cast namely kuroyukihime won't spoil you or anything but rather just give you a head up to what to be expected if a season 2 is made not to mention we would see more of black vise group which is the main bad guy of the series... hmm more wild beast will appear in season 2 more armament and more cast and some other stuff such as the identity of some burst linker and a lot of bishoujo too... and i am surprise you didn't comment on the leg fetish i guess you don't have such thing huh? well one day i will found out your fetish feal one day...
speaking of it the exciting part of accel world is suppose to be after this arc but too bad it end before getting to that part...

Well, he maygrow it in the future. It doesn't need to be in a very short period of time, especially considering the massive time difference between real world and accelerated world.

Still she can't win against more than one king at once so we need haru to power up! >_<

I'm sorry for haru, but those high school relationships don't last. Well, maybe if he starts going to the gym and his growth spurt hits him.

I'm sure in next season Kuroykihime will find herself and we are going to get Kuroyukihime and Fuuko coupling. Now that would be great series.
