Hello,
Today we'll talk about the fifth episode of the summer season 2012 anime series Campione that, as predicted, dedicated an entire episode to random comedy and fanservice.
The whole episode focused around some "personality building events" for the character of Mariya Yuri, the new addition in Godou's harem. They even included a "date" at the end between her and the protagonist!
While there was a bit of story development in the middle of the episode (a new Campione calling Godou at the phone), this cannot be considered more than some entertaining filler.

I wasn't expecting Mariya to get kidnapped by Liliana, but I suppose its a necessary step to force the reluctant Godou to bring justice to the traveling "monster".
Am I the only one thinking that the new enemy looks like a mix between a werewolf and a vampire? I'm very interested in which are his battle capabilities and his chances to defeat Godou.
I mean, he was prepared to fight and win against the grown-up Athena, so he must be far more powerful than her right?!
As you can see from this short video scene, Mariya Yuri has an incredible talent in being abnormally cute in every single scene where she tries to act "seriously" in front of our protagonist.
Now that she finally received Erica's "approval", she'll likely become one of the main girl in Godou's harem, and well things are going to get messy for our "poor" protagonist. :P
Another couple of these "cute errors" (as shown in the video) and not even his overpowered Campione's powers will be able to save him...

Next episode will likely focus on Godou's efforts trying to save Mariya from the monster castle. I'm not sure if the "monster" will be defeated next week, because the title implies some kind of "talking" between Godou and Liliana.
This is especially true if we think that we know nothing about the reasons forcing Liliana to serve that old man. Maybe he's blackmailing her in some way?
I speculate that this arc will last another 2 episodes (till episode 7 included) and will conclude with Liliana's addition to the harem as the third girl.

Concluding, Campione while being an extremely clichè harem series continue to entertain us with a good combination of fanservice and comedy.
I'll continue to watch and cover this series in the future as well.
See you soon,
