Kokoro Connect - Inaba's final confession was awesome! Now Iori!

Hello,

Today we'll talk about the fourth episode of the summer season 2012 anime series Kokoro Connect that concludes Inaba's personal story that turns out to be a lot simpler than I first thought.

Being suspicious of everyone around you (especially in such a situation) is something extremely normal and I would likely feel the same after so many body exchanges.

I mean, who knows what could happen to her reputation? Especially when your body is being "used" by a guy instead of a fellow girl...

We also got to know more about Iori's sad past, and I have to say that I was quite shocked when she first said "I had five dads". Why is the mother marrying so many times?

Don't she understand that's an incredibly bad environment for her child to live into? Stability in the relationships is one of the most important pillars for a child.

By the way, I'm afraid that Iori's problem will be harder to resolve compared to Yui's or Inaba's one. She seems to be a living mass of sadness at the moment...:(

I was already shocked when Taichi revealed such a private information to Inaba in the previous scene, but it seems I wasn't ready for what Inaba was going to say in this small video scene.

It was completely unexpected (I was expecting a "I love you" there) and my "shock" quickly changed into laughter. How will Taichi manage to talk to her normally now?!

I wonder if we'll ever get to know the same confessions from the other two girls as well, because I'm sure it would be an "amusing" experience to see their awkward silence...

Next episode will finally focus on the main heroine Iori Nagase and will show the infamous "suicide" scene that we were all "waiting" for.

I hope Taichi will be able to save her from death just as he's done with Yui and Inaba. He's a good guy so I can sort of accept him being the "harem master" of this world.

I'm unsure about what will be the focus of the series as soon as Iori's problem is taken care for, because we're still less than halfway through the series at the moment...

Concluding, Kokoro Connect continues to be the best series of this summer season 2012 till now and a series I suggest to everyone.

If they continue with these high quality episodes it'll become one of my top 10 anime series of all time. :)

I agree, it is getting better and better, each character is having a chance to grow and expand and become more visible and the series does not shy away from tough issues and life events, it delivers plot events with a one two punch, and does not hold back but even the body switching which could be bizarre and weird is done with a very nice and compassionate touch and i am finding that i can see things in all of the characters to like, and to enjoy seeing more of, I predict this series may indeed have a number of sequels and run a long time and be very popular. And the art style is very good too.

Next week i am a bit scared for they mention "a death" !!! i hope it is not too extreme but what happens if you die when you are in someone else's body? that is puzzling...do you still come back to yours?

anyway, i hope it will be ok.....

Yes, many other series should learn from this how to write a proper character development. I'm liking all the characters already and we're only four episodes into the story.

The production values (art quality, sound quality, etc..) are all top-notch till now. Hopefully they'll keep it that way!

Nah, she won't die! I'm sure of it because the whole series looks light hearted in both OP, content (till now) and side material. It'll likely be drama filled, but with a good ending.

oh my, well lets hope we wont lose one of our main characters..i just get worried when characters end up in the hospital, the infirmary at school is rarely dangerous but hospital stays can lead to characters departing..... lets keep fingers crossed, and like i wondered, maybe it will raise a question about the body shifting, in fact, maybe if you are in transit between bodies you are immune to accidents and danger? lets hope something like that as a fall back.

The body shifting must have some other implications for sure, I don't trust that alien saying that "they're doing it for fun". There must be a bigger reason...

This is certainly shaping up to become a good show besides Hyouka and Tari Tari this summer. A lot of drama with the girls and I wonder how the male lead will help to resolve these problems. Still, it kind of reminds me of romance visual novels I played in the past.

But the drama this episode was facepalm inducing

They set up so much drama and then solve it as if nothing happened.
Inaba has really fallen in my eyes with her angsty antics, I thought she would be much more confident. She acts all strong but inside she's a trainwreck

Iori with her yandere potential is the best girl.

Inaba was entertaining with all that emotional breakdown at the end + the final confession to Taichi, but I agree that Iori is the best (for different reasons than yours though...

I think the solving things without a lot of drama is part of the charm of this series, and Hyouka too, it gives things a feeling of being real, that is the way things happen in real life, often things start, are worked thru and finish up in real life without a lot of fuss.... in this series there is some fuss but a lot of rather ordinary day stuff that happens around the major events too. i like having both.

Same thoughts, I like how this series doesn't enforce too much drama elements for multiple episodes. I'm not sure how they'll adapt Iori's story though, she looks quite a problematic girl.

The series has done a good job at keeping the comedy and drama balanced until now, and while I think a suicide attempt could still work and might escalate things appropriately, I'm still worried they might try for an actual suicide, which could easily be too much too quickly. It reminds me far too much of a similar scene from Kamisama no Memochou last year, which was admittedly the only thing I remembered from that show.

Not sure, but as long as Iori is safe I won't complain. While it never happened to me, I sort of understand her pain, having to wear masks to please everyone around her.

Ahahah, Kamisama no Memochou was quite different from this. They were trying to act serious (I hated that "NEET Detective" stuff

), while this series doesn't look like that.

Inaba's confession is basically admitting she likes him. Maybe it's more physically, but still.

I see Iori as a perfect yandere for Taichi or yangire if he's not part of it.

This episode certainly surprised me. I rather like the themes of identity that are being presented in this series. It's one of the rare anime that I feel truly takes advantage of its high school setting to analyze the sorts of things teenagers have to deal with. The body-swapping has mainly just been a way to give the characters a push into exploring all these concepts. (Well, and a means for some comic humor at times, too.)
Judging by the episode preview, it seems that Taichi hasn't perfectly solved everyone's problems as some people are believing. I'm curious to see what things he will have to realize about himself before the series is over.

Yeah, people complained for the "cheap drama", but I think that this level of drama is just enough for the typical life of high school students.

Next episode will be Iori's turn to get saved I suppose, and I wonder if Taichi will use the "i love you" card to pull her out.

I guess I'm the lucky bunch.

I like "mild" drama. This title has a light feel to it but still serious enough to hit the right spot for me. Nothing overly emo (yet).

To be honest I feel like nobody is really "saved" yet as most people would think they are. Yui only really just made her "first step forward". Inaban only took a chill pill for the time being, her potential of breaking herself again is still there. Let's not even get started with Iori, you can feel there's a huge gaping hole in her from the conversations. I have a feeling Taichi's approach might screw it up judging from the preview.

Definitely looking forward to next week.

Yeah, excessive drama is bad (we had many example of this in the past), but here we have that nice balance between light hearted content and drama...

yes, that's the main point most people aren't understanding. They haven't resolved their issues, but are going to do their best from now on in order to do so.

Hopefull Taichi will save Iori from that depressing state. She's the last one and probably the toughest to "fix"...

Oh man, Inaba, Inaba you are so wonderful, she is becoming a favorite character for me.

I loved how her problem was resolved, I liked the dramatic build up for her thoughts and the following confession to the rest of the club mates. Only to be met by a rather low key and obvious reaction. Plus Taichi's and Inaba's confessions were just golden.

Since we are about halfway through and it seems Iori's trauma might be addressed next episode I'm thinking that the traumas will get revisited. Plus the guys still have to get their time in the spotlight. I particularly wanna see if Taichi's selflessness is a result of some trauma as well or simply as he mentioned it was just the way he was born.

Ahahah, the confessions were GOLDEN! I am still laughing when I think about that awkward situation.

Not sure, but I do agree that the boys will get some spotlight as well, especially as we still have the Yui/Aoki relationship to get "explained". We really don't know much about their backstory!

Taichi does seem to be the harem master of this series, the other guy has just fallen to the wayside. I was really surprised at Inaba's reply too. I wonder if she was telling the truth or if she was just teasing Taichi.
