Hello,
Let's talk about the third episode of the summer season 2012 anime series Kokoro Connect that completes the first drama sub-story focused on the character of Kiriyama Yui and her innate fear of males.
It seems that everything was connected to a failed assault during her middle school days. Yes, she managed to run away and save herself, but was traumatized by that event to the point of trembling whenever a male goes near her.
Taichi managed to break through her heart defenses and somehow make her fight against her fear. However, it will take some time for her to recover from that trauma and go back to be a normal girl.

The development and resolution was quite sudden, but I liked how Yui managed to smile again. As you probably already know, I don't like sad endings and watching a lovely girl like Yui overcome (even if partially) her fear was really rewarding.
By the way, it seems that Taichi is, just like Inaba said, a guy ready to sacrifice himself in order to save the others around him and that will probably play some role in his sub-story.
However, I still think that Iori's personal story will be left at the end, because judging from the promotional video her drama seems to be the heaviest between the five students.
I can sort of understand the pain that Yui/Taichi suffered in this small video scene. I mean, how can you manage to give your own body such a powerful kick in the most weak male part?! :|
I really wonder if Yui will now decide to accept Aoki's attentions or she'll become the third girl pursuing Taichi creating some sort of love polygon...
By the way, It seems that Fujishima is growing suspicious about Taichi and his "love for Iori". Will she try to "steal" Iori away from him?!
Judging from the preview segment, next episode will be focused on Inaba Himeko as main character with some involvement of Iori Nagase as well. My speculation is that both Iori and Inaba are in love with Taichi and this is going to create some "small" drama in the group.
By the way, I'm unsure about how much material the anime will decide to cover of the original light novels because as we know, Kokoro Connect is still an ongoing Light novel series with 8 volumes released.
I'm more leaning to the "original ending" approach unless they hope to sell enough copies to allow the production of a second season in the future...

Concluding, Kokoro Connect continues to be an extremely entertaining series that I'll continue to watch and blog in the future as well.
See you soon,
