Hello,
Today we'll talk about the second episode of the summer season 2012 anime series named Tari Tari that continues to deliver entertaining and touching episodes confirming it as one of the best series of this summer season.
I was not expecting the first arc to be over this soon, but I suppose this was just some sort of prologue in order to introduce the characters and their relationships.
However, I'm not anymore sure about what will be the focus of this series. In the past I speculated a romantic story, but everything seems to imply that the personal drama of the five characters will be the main focus.

This episode was entirely dedicated to Wakana Sakai's recruitment into Konatsu's choir club. At the beginning she joined as a mere "ghost member", but slowly Konatsu managed to involve her more and more in the club activities.
In the end (thanks to the Principal's incident) the whole musical performance ended up becoming just a way to force Wakana to play the piano and break her "reluctance" once and for all.
Now we have 3 members over 5 recruited and we lack only the two guys that will likely get recruited in the following episodes.
This video made me think a bit about the connections that link the various characters in this story together. Apart from the cuteness of a child Wakana Sakai, we get to see her mother back when she was still alive.
Why would Wakana remember of her mother when playing that particular music? What is the connection between Wakana's mother and the school? Why everyone seems to have some special treatment for her?
I speculate that Wakana's mother was the original writer of that song back in her school days and that she frequented the same school as her child.

After watching the opening animation I also noticed how the evil teacher (Vice-Principal) seems to be reminiscing about a long time past when she was "pulled around" by another fellow cheerful schoolgirl.
Everything seems to imply that Wakana's mother was actually the classmate of the Vice-Principal and they most likely were part of a choir just like Konatsu and the others.
The question is "what happened in those days to change the vice principal personality so deeply?". I'm also curious about why the principal seems to know a lot about this situation...

Concluding, Tari Tari is an extremely entertaining series with high production values and one of the few I strongly suggest you to watch in this summer season 2012!
See you soon,
