Hello,
Today we'll talk about the first episode of the second season of Yuruyuri, one of the series we covered back in the summer season 2011 and probably one of the best comedy series of the last years.
It was extremely entertaining to follow the small stories in the first season and I was eagerly waiting for the second season to start since when the announcement was made.
The formula behind this series hasn't changed at all and can be easily summarized as "beautiful girls, comedy and a small bit of yuri undertones".

This first episode was divided into two halves, the first revolving around Akari's cute delusions and the second one focused around the four main girls hot springs holiday.
I have to say that they've made a great choice to reintroduce all characters using delusions as a medium. This way, without having to create unrealistic situations, they managed to show us all the quirks of each girl!
Hey, they even included the crazy teacher and the lovely student council president Matsumoto Rise that only got a very small share of screentime in the last couple of episodes!
I laughed so hard at Akari's crazy delusions and I have to say that she really has a creative mind searching for attentions from the girls around her.
I wonder what Kyouko, Yui or Chinatsu would think after peeking inside her mind. I mean, I'm not sure they'll be happy to see how they are represented in her ideal world.

By the way, am I the only one completely charmed by the opening animation/song? I had to watch it non-stop at least 10-15 times before being able to start writing this post!
The song title is "Yes! Yuyuyu☆Yuruyuri♪♪" by Nanamoriuchi☆Gorakubu (I suppose its a fictional group merging all the seiyuu working on this project) and the release date is slated to tomorrow 04/07/2012!
What about next episode? Well, judging from the preview it won't stray from the normal fare and deliver plenty of comedy without much "plot" to distract us! :D

Concluding, YuruYuri's second season, thanks to the entertaining chemistry between characters, is definitely one of the suggested series for the comedy genre of this summer season 2012.
I'm not sure if I'll cover it regularly (still many "first episodes" to watch...), but do expect some posts on it from time to time.
See you soon,
