Hello,
Today we'll talk about the upcoming summer season 2012 anime series named Sword Art Online that is by far the most anticipated anime for me in the upcoming series lineup (excluding the second seasons).
I was first introduced to this series when talking with Dusk252 weeks ago and decided to investigate more and learn about what made this series a great one.
The story follows the adventures of a guy named Kazuto Kirigaya (Kirito ingame) who end up together with other 10.000 players imprisoned inside an online game named "Sword Art Online" unable to log out.

The main focus of the story is trying to escape from this online game still alive. Yes, because death in this virtual game means death in the real world as well (it seems the whole game is based on some advanced technology of virtual reality).
I only have one single doubt about this series and is regarding the link between the big story arcs, it seems that there are multiple stories that will be set in different online games with the same characters as protagonist.
Just who is making these online games as traps and why it isn't being arrested after the first incident?! I just hope they'll come out with a convincing argument...
Judging from this small video we're in some classic fantasy MMORPG world with quest-givers, level-ups, items, skills, etc... All the stuff that would make every RPG fan happy!
I wonder what level of detail they'll give when explaining the mechanics behind the game and how this will affect the fights. I'm not sure how well this can be adapted in an anime without sounding too much "technobabble"...

This series sports one of the best combination of Seiyuu ever. We have Haruka Tomatsu (Lala from To Love-Ru) as the main heroine Asuna, Ayana Taketatsu (Azusa Nakano from K-On) as Suguha Kirigaya, Miyuki Sawashiro (Suruga Kanbaru from Bakemonogatari) as Shino Asada and many other big names.
I'm unsure about the level of quality of the animation, but I have high expectations because A-1 Pictures has made a wonderful job animating Senkou no Night Raid back in 2010.
By the way, am I the only one excited about the opening song named "crossing field" sung by LiSA? I loved her "Oath sign" song from Fate Zero Season 1 and I'm expecting another great song this time as well...*_*

Concluding, Sword Art Online is going to be one of the most "discussed" series of this summer season 2012 and I suggest everyone to give it a shot!
See you soon,
