Hello,
Today we'll talk about the 24th episode (11th of the second season) of the anime series named Fate Zero that completed most of the battles and is now about to complete the last minutes of the fourth grail war.
One of the most interesting part of this episode was the suggestive scene showing us how the Grail would've granted Kiritsugu's wish. It isn't completely clear, but I think they wanted to imply that the only way to save the world (using that cursed item) was to "kill all humanity".
This is because, for some reason, the Grail would've worked as a magnifier of Kiritsugu's original way of "saving the world" (sacrifice the least number of people to save the majority) that he used in the last years.

This episode also featured a couple of battles; the most exciting one was Kirei vs Kiritsugu. It was extremely entertaining to see how both relied heavily on their "broken" artifacts in order to win.
From one side we have Kiritsugu and Avalon's unlimited regeneration capabilities (managed to restore his destroyed heart in mere seconds). From the other side we have Kirei using the extra command spells he owns to deflect Kiritsugu's special bullets.
It's a shame that the grail decided to interrupt their battle all of a sudden. I would've loved to see who was going to get the final victory in that bloody deathmatch.
As you can see in this scene we see a completely "broken" Saber being ordered to destroy the Grail (using two command spells to force her to use Excalibur). For once, I was cheering for Kiritsugu because he's finally doing the right thing by destroying such corrupted artifact.
We also now finally understand the reason for the hate Saber had for Kiritsugu in the original Fate Stay Night. Being ordered to destroy the item that could save your fate must have been very hard on her.

Next episode will show us Saber facing Gilgamesh in a final battle to destroy the grail just as ordered by Kiritsugu. Gilgamesh will end up becoming "human" again due to the corruption of the grail (that is the reason for him being still alive in the fifth war as well)
Hopefully they'll have enough time to cover all the rest of the events of the fourth war aftermath like Kirei surviving the war, Rin ending up becoming Kirei's disciple, Shirou ending up in Kiritsugu's home, etc...
I think it would be awesome if they show us a small final scene with Rin, Sakura and Shirou in child version living their life peacefully years before the fifth war kicks in...

Concluding, Fate Zero is still one of the best series aired in the last couple of years and if they manage to bring enough closure with the ending I'm sure it'll become one of the top 10 series of all time in my rankings.
See you soon,
