Sankarea - What have you done Chihiro? Why refusing?!

Hello,

Today we'll talk about the 9th episode of the spring season 2012 anime series named Sankarea that finally explain the reasons for Rea's father obsession and somehow "improves" a bit his reputation.

Well, he's still a crazy father and at the same time the very reason for Rea's death, but at least his actions during the years were not completely random evil acts.

Whenever he watches Rea, he can only see his wife because of the extreme similarity. I wonder what will happen as soon as Rea get to know the truth behind her mother identity...

Sankarea

The love story between Dan'ichirou and Rea's mother was a heartstrucking one and I really liked when he stood up against the family's decision in order to protect the girl he loves.

He was searching for true love, even while surrounded with dozens of beautiful girls ready to become his wife...

I wonder how their story would've changed if Rea's mother was still alive after giving birth to Rea. Maybe he wouldn't had become such a crazy guy...

Just what do you think you're doing Chihiro? Refusing such a beautiful woman with no decent reason? "I only like zombies, not normal humans!"...

This repeating plot device is making me cringe more and more, it almost reached the level of the "NEET Detective" line by Alice in Kami-sama no Memo Chou.

I prefer the classic generic guy as protagonist compared to such an abnormality. I mean, I wonder how would such a guy be treated in the real world?!

Sankarea

Judging from the episode preview next episode will be focused on the showdown between Chihiro and Rea's father. It'll be a battle between ideals, because I really don't think Chihiro have any chance to win physically in such an unfair fight.

We also get to see a "bunny girl" Rea running around the house in order to stop the battle, save Chihiro and hopefully punch her father with her zombie strength.

I wonder why she was clothed in that way?! I remember something extremely funny happening in that manga chapter, but I can't remember clearly as I read it more than 1 year ago...

Sankarea

Concluding, Sankarea is continuing to be an extremely entertaining series that I suggest to anyone looking for a "special" romantic comedy.

The only small downside is the protagonist, I just can't like him for some reason...:P

Of course we can't forgive him. I mean, he killed Rea! And he made her suffer for most of her adolescence...how can someone forgive him?

I have to say that he was quite cool before going crazy though. Did you see how he did stand up for his lover?

No comment about Chihiro refusing such an hot woman?!

I think if she was a zombie he would've accepted to be honest. He really seems to like dead girls only...which is...well questionable!


Not sure why, but like Alice's repeating "I'm a NEET detective" this whole zombie fetish thing makes me cringe.

Well he has that strange interest. So if she was dead, he wouldn't have resisted. I'm sure given any normal sexual stimulation, he would act normally, but the zombie thing is just a simple preference.

It's like looking for the ideal parrtner but settling for less because you know you can't possibly find a real zombie.

Unfortunately in this case, he does have a real zombie near him so I wonder how the story will end. (manga wise, because the anime will end without an ending) Will they decide to make him marry a "human" Rea, or they'll decide for Rea to remain zombie?

*pahh* Chihiro is cool, I like him. even though his I prefer zombie girls excuse was kinda lame in that scene. Well not everyone wants to be laid by an old hag that reeks like booze, but that was rude XD

Wahh Rea's father makes me sick, the whole "pedophile incest" thing is so damn creepy. "spread your legs like that" ...Thats beyond unacceptable. I wonder what Rea can do in Hulk mode ^^

Are you implying I'm nearing the "old male hag" status?


I'm expecting some big punishment by Rea, she's far more powerful than any humans, her father included. I wonder if Chihiro will get out unscathed though...

Well, personally I won't deny her sexual appeal.

She should just call the cops and her father will be in prison for some time XD

What I find a little weird is that father and stepmother believe that Rea is a zombie that easily, like it happens everyday in Japan.

Same thoughts here, she may be a bit old for Chihiro, but I'll take her anytime with my age.  

I wonder if the Sanka family has big influence over cops as well. That would be troublesome...

yeah, Chihiro's father is the main focus of the "problem", he seems to be able to accept everything. Did you see how he reacted to Rea's discovery?

And I kinda pity her stepmom when Chihiro rejected her seduction after her stories, saying he's interested in zombie gurls.

That would be unfortunate, how are they going to stand against him? The only way is punching him with Rea's zombie power. Try to think about Rea's father face after being punched by his child...

Agreed, I would've accepted such a situation. I mean, she's hot and nobody can really say otherwise. You would've refused her?

Personally I still hate Dan'ichiro, though I have to agree that I enjoyed how he stood up for Rea's mother. He'd probably be the perfect overprotective father if she survived. How do you think he would've reacted if Rea's mom survived and Rea started daiting?


While I agree that he should have taken Aria up on her offer (hard to belive he's a teenager), I don't think it was completely random either. I mean, while Dan'ichiro did most of the work, Aria did help in creating that atmosphere that led to Rea drinking that potion.

Only minor influence to be honest, the one to create the scar was the father. Those scenes shown in this episode were SCARY! Did you listen to the "Spread your legs like that" line?

Yeah, I was a bit cheering for him after watching that scene against his family, but it was...extremely sad to watch his transformation after Rea's mother death.

Clannad and Clannad After story are very emotional stories, so be prepared to cry...

Hayate no Gotoku is awesome, one of the most entertaining comedy series of the recent history.

I'd like the main character a little more if they explained the cat ear thing.

His personality is like Keima from TWGOK, but at least Keima never tried to take his love for dating sim girls into real life (like with love pillows and stuff). He just shunned the real world entirely, which somehow made him more likable. It's like the uncanny valley in that Chihiro feels more normal in other areas, so his attraction to dead girls is all the more unnatural. Or maybe we just like 2D girls more than dead ones.

That's likely just a comedy feature to be honest.

The point is having a separation between reality and fiction, Chihiro seems to completely ignore this difference and pursue "zombie girls" without really understanding the implications of this. (real zombies, not Rea...
)

Seriously, Furuya has some screws loosed! How did he manage to resist those boobs? I have to admit Rea's step mom is hot, besides Dan'ichiro doesn't care about her, he wasted that chance.. well, Furuya is weird after all..

Yeah, it's kind of sad watching him change deeply after her death...

My same exact feelings when watching that scene, Rea's step mom is HOT and everyone would've jumped in such a situation...me included!
