Hello,
Today we'll talk about the 21th episode (8th of the second season) of the anime series Fate Zero that shocks us with one of the most terrifying anime scene of the last years.
Yes, Kotomine killing Iris was really hard to bear after so many episodes of development for that girl. Now she seems to be trapped within the accursed grail with no way to escape back to reality.
I only hope the Grail won't corrupt her soul leaving her enough reason to try and contact Kiritsugu for a final love message...

This episode didn't use any special animation like last time, but focused on a more "development" focused approach explaining and resolving the last remaining plot threads. This will likely be the last episode this way as the real war begins starting from the next episode.
When Iris explained Kiritsugu's real goal I felt pity for the man who Kiritsugu ended up becoming. While I despise Kirei, I have to agree with him that Kiritsugu's objective is totally fucked up.
"World peace"?! Are we serious? Not even childrens nowadays thinks about such a "unrealistic" objectives. Just pick Iris and run away using your magus knowledge...>_<
Ok, this was a rather cool way for Waver Velvet to end his war. He aknowledge how useless he is in battle and end up riding in battle with Rider as a "friend" instead of a Master.
It was one of the most cool scene of this episode and I really want to see how Waver's personality will grow up after this war just as I'm interested in the final battle between Gilgamesh and Rider.
Judging from what Gilgamesh said to Kotomine, we're going to experience a "full-powered" Gilgamesh, that implies he's going to use his main weapon Ea as well.

Obviously he can't use it at 100% while on Earth as it would cause too much damage (it's an anti-world class weapon after all) and probably he wouldn't have enough mana anyway.
Next episode will likely be entirely focused around Gilgamesh vs Rider and Saber vs Berserker battle leaving the Kiritsugu vs Kotomine for the last episode climax.
I'm quite excited to think about what great animated battles awaits us, but at the same time a bit sad to know that this series is inevitably coming to an end...

Concluding, Fate Zero is right near the end with the four most exciting battles (all the remaining ones) just some weeks away from us.
I'm extremely looking forward to watch and cover the future episodes as well.
See you soon,
