Today we'll talk about the 8th episode of the spring season 2012 anime series named Accel World that continues with a nice pace to develop the story and introduce new characters.
Yes, because in this episode we finally get the introduction of another recurring character of the story named Yuniko Kouzuki also known as Scarlet Rain, the second Red King!
I was not expecting one of the Kings to appear this soon in the story, just as I was not expecting such a little child be one of these "powerful" kings!
It was quite nice to finally see the "true power" of a Level 9 avatar, especially because Kuroyukihime doesn't seem interested in using all her powers for the time being...
Haruyuki simply didn't stand a chance against that monster and will likely require a lot more training/level ups to be able to face the enemy kings on the same standing (he's still level 4 after all...)
I have to give kudos to Sunrise for animating the battle scenes in an exciting way. Whenever it comes to animation of battle scenes, we just can't find anyone who can match Sunrise in a TV broadcasted anime series.
I was not expecting Haruyuki to be that sharp in detecting the "spy" after such a short period of time, but I have to agree with him on his "constatation"! She is far cuter than his real cousin.
The only problem with her is that bad personality, extremely "unbelievable" for a 5th year elementary student. She somehow remind me of Akira from Lucky Star TV anime series segment named "Lucky Channel".
Both of them have a cute side (That "onii-chan!" was deadly), and both them have an extremely harsh real personality. They are both very young as well!
Next episode will give us more information about the reasons for which the Red King decided to contact Kuroyukihime. I think she is searching for some way to stop the onslaught of that monster shown at the very end of the episode.
If we consider that avatars can run around that artificial world we have to imply that we have a "monster" class avatar as well or something extremely similar.
By the way, isn't that the same monster we have in the opening animation fighting against Haru? I'm speculating that will be the "mid-boss" of this anime series before tackling the kings.
Concluding, Accel World is keeping high level of quality entertainment in every episode till now. I even managed to grow a bit used to Haruyuki's looks, so I'm quite positive about this series and I'm looking forward the future episodes.
