Hello,
Today we'll talk about the 8th episode of the spring season 2012 anime series named Sankarea that delivers another solid episode composed by a mix of cuteness, comedy and developments.
I'm having some doubts about Rea's personality. From one side, I do find her extremely cute, but from the other side I can't understand how she can act so naturally after knowing that she's not alive anymore...
Also, what's up with Chihiro's family (especially his father)? Nobody questioning a young girl like Rea eating dangerous, unknown and likely poisonous plants?

Rea's father prove to be an incredibly creepy and hopeless guy that really deserve to be punished hard. I mean, did you see that big poster and his talk about "freedom"?
I hope Chihiro/Rea will bring him back to reality and shut his mouth once and for all. Rea really doesn't deserve more pain from him even after her death...
By the way, am I the only one thinking that they're using Ranko as fanservice bait? All these scenes (while wonderful for our eyes) were completely unnecessary...:P
I knew already what was going to happen, but I laughed hard at this kidnapping scene. It's really a lot funnier to watch it animated compared to the original manga.
Rea is abnormally strong as I stated in the past and not even three males are able to restraint her. Their only choice was to kidnap the protagonist, the weak link of their relationship.
What is Rea's father intentions? Will he try to kill Chihiro or dissuade him from pursuing Rea further? Will Rea come to his rescue with her abnormal power?

I was surprised when watching the episode preview because for some reason the director decided to not cover Furuya's kidnapping aftermath, but switch to an episode focused on his little sister.
Yes, it seems that Mero will be the focus of the next episode together with her two friends. What will be the story? Not sure as I don't remember such a side-story in the manga in the volumes I read...
With only few episodes remaining after the next filler episode, I'm starting to speculate they may end this adaptation with the resolution of kidnapping arc leaving the main plot of Rea's situation still unresolved.

Concluding, Sankarea is keeping high levels of quality and is about to enter the final arc that will bring upon (most likely) an inconclusive ending leaving plenty of space for a second season.
See you soon,
