Hello,
Today we'll talk about the fourth episode of the spring season 2012 anime series Accel World who surprised me with a big twist I was not expecting to happen to the main heroine in this otherwise light hearted series.
When I saw Kuroyukihime on the ground, I was not worried about her wellbeing because it's safe to say that Kuroyukihime won't have much problems recovering from that incident and be back leading the show.
I mean, just as you probably experienced in other popular anime series, main heroines do have the greatest plot armor ever, so she'll be back with her lady voice in one or two episodes max...

This episode was entirely dedicated to Haru and Kuroyukihime growing relationship (they even got a small lover quarrel in between) that escalated in this episode reaching the official romantic level.
How can a perfect girl like Kuroyukihime end up falling in love with Haru is really beyond me. I mean, its not just about looks, Haru also has a crappy personality as shown in this episode and his only positive trait is "I can play games very well".
We also get to know that Takumu is the enemy targeting Kuroyukihime and he will be the next enemy for Haru to fight using his own metal avatar in the virtual world.
No guys, now just watch this little video scene and tell me what is the meaning behind that evil-smirk on Takumu face. Is he some kind of evil mastermind near to complete the world conquest plan?
What is wrong with the males in this anime series? We either have sadist who likes to launch cars against little girls and a protagonist who can't understand the (quite evident to be honest) feelings of the main heroine.
I'm starting to be scared that we're going to end up just like in Guilty Crown where I ended up hating the protagonist from the start till the very end of the series.

Next episode? We'll likely see Haru punching some sanity into Takumu using his virtual avatar and "converting" him to be a loyal follower of Kuroyukihime greatness in one single episode.
Why I say this? Because Accel World looks like the typical shounen series in which friends are made by punching them hard until they understand how much you care about them. (like Black Rock Shooter?!)
The more violent the fight is, the more likely the enemy is going to join the good guys! I just hope the main cast won't become too big after this kind of "recruitment".

Concluding, Accel World is proving to be an entertaining series with an interesting storyline, but with a single little negative side. All the males characters introduced till now simply sucks.
I'm going to continue watching and blogging about this series in the future as well.
See you soon,
