Hello everyone,
Just as promised months ago here we are to close our coverage of Guilty Crown, a series in which many people (me included) had a lot of expectations in, but turned out to be a mediocre one in everything except for the wonderful soundtrack.
Yes, because I won't deny that I still listen to the whole soundtrack coming from this series. It's really an incredible piece of work that I suggest to anyone in here.
By the way, I watched these last 7 episodes week by week until today and I read most of the posts revolving around it, posts filled with rage, disillusion and even jokes (the songs from Draggle were quite something...:P)

We left the story just as Hare died, but really nothing interesting happened in between to be worthy of talking in a full post. The wimpy and angsty Shu in less than one episode become "Hitler" trying to control all the students using his powers.
His reign is a very short-lived one, because his students betray him and he is stripped from his void powers by a resurrected Gai (he got a quite new and fresh "final boss" look).
What happened then? Well, Shu was not happy with his first transformation and decided to leave his "Hitler" persona behind to become "Jesus" and try to save the entire world using his own void power.

The last episode was really something incredible. I was like "WTF are they doing?!" when the male background song started just as Mana began killing people worldwide...
What were they thinking? That it would make the series look smarter?! Well, they failed, it just looked awkward...
And what should I say of that shout of Ayase at the very end? Can anything get more cheesy than that? My dear god, I was about to strangle the monitor with a mouse cord during that scene...
I'll be honest here, I tried hard to find a scene that I liked in the last episode and after much search the best I could find were the two scenes with Tsugumi (one of which is the one I choose) and the breast bouncing action of Ayase.
I'm starting to think that is quite bad if the only scene I can find interesting in an action series episode are the fanservice focused ones...
Where did you go wrong Guilty Crown? I'm hoping Nitroplus (I'm a great fan of their works) will be able to create a better story in his visual novel based on the same story named "Guilty Crown : Lost Christmas".

Concluding, Guilty Crown has been a mediocre series from start to finish. It was not inherently bad, but never managed to become interesting either...
I don't suggest this series to anyone, unless you like shounen action series with a lot of angst and a rather "uninteresting" plot.
Visual Points : 900/1000 (Hands down, apart from a couple of issues it was a great animation.)
Audio Points : 950/1000 (Probably the best anime soundtrack I ever heard...)
Story Points : 700/1000 (A B rated american action movie with a wimpy protagonist instead of a muscle bound one)
Entertainment Points : 750/1000 (After the initial happiness of a couple of episodes everything started to look annoying)
Characters Points : 800/1000 (Nice side-characters with a very hateful main character)
Final Points : 15.975/20.000
The series is ranked 65th over 169 series in my rankings (Updated to 22/03/2012 21:35)
See you soon,
