Hello everyone,
Today we'll talk about the third and the fourth episode of the winter season 2011/2012 anime series Senki Zesshou Symphogear that continue to prove itself interesting in both storyline and characters interaction!
I was not expecting all this development around Hibiki and her special power (compared to the other girls shown till now) in only a couple of episodes, but it was a refreshing change of pace compared to many other series.
I'm also quite scared of Ryoko Sakurai, she is definitely evil or that's what I think after watching her ecstatic face while watching Hibiki awaken Durandal's powers.
The episode continue right from the ending of the last one with Tsubasa still unable to recover consciousness and Hibiki training under Genjuro in order to improve her battle skill and protect all the people she loves!
I am not sure if those scenes were serious or not, especially the one with Genjuro and Hibiki in front of a TV trying random lame poses, but I like the fact that they continue to not give too much focus on the drama. :P
At the same time I was quite surprised by the real Yuri scene between Kris Setsuin and the other naked-woman (I don't remember her name) with some additional electrocution just to spice up the things. After that scene I'm starting to think that Kris will eventually join the friends side...:P
This was the scene I was referring in the title of this post! Durandal really looks like Excalibur in both power and looks, and it seems that Hibiki is the only one able to awaken his power easily.
It was quite good to see Kris getting owned by Hibiki's new power (in order to avenge Tsubasa), but the more I think about it, the less I think that Kris is actually an enemy to fight. She is probably only a victim of the Noise phenomenon...
By the way as I said in the beginning I was quite scared by the reaction of Ryoko. She is definitely hiding something, especially now that we know that she has some kind of power as well.
On the other side I feel that Miku has been too much neglected in the storyline of these first four episodes! Isn't her one of the protagonists of this story? We need to get her more involved in order to make the story shine.
Next episode will probably be focused on Tsubasa and Hibiki again, because I'm speculating that Tsubasa will be back on her feet very soon. (Especially now that she regained consciousness in the hospital)
I'm also curious about the implication of foreign powers into all this Noise affair. That relic they found makes me suppose that the Noise were actually weapons from a long past of humanity, but I'm not sure how many of these relics are available on Earth...
Moreover, it's still very unclear what is the purpose of the Noise attacks. What are they searching for? Is there really someone manipulating them?
Concluding, Senki Zesshou Symphogear is proving itself to be a very interesting anime series and a nice pick if you like both the action and yuri theme.
I'm going to continue to blog and watch this in the future as well!
