Hello everyone,
Here we are to talk again about the 13th episode of the anime series Guilty Crown that delivered a quite interesting episode focusing on Ayase going cute-blush on Shu and Tsugumi playing around in a neko-mimi maid costume.
What is the relationship between these events and the whole conspiracy story they were developing with extreme detail till the last episode revolving around the creation of a new human race using some kind of alien stone?
Well, I have no idea as well, but I have to say that I preferred this simple filler/fanservice episode to the random infodump and suggestive scenery of the last one.

The episode goes around the aftermath of the battle in which Gai "died" (yes, I'm still not sure about that) leaving Shu, Inori, Ayase and Tsugumi stranded inside a ruined Tokyo with no connection to the rest of the rebel members.
The whole episode was a filler to create some growth in the personality of Ayase and at the same time giving her the power to move freely (even fly to be honest) thanks to a very convenient void power hidden in her heart.
By the way, is it only to me that the void power of Ayase looks extremely similar to the one of Lenalee of D.Gray man?! (The crystal form she get later in the story...)
Yes, this is what I was referring to as the rather convenient void power Ayase got! I was expecting her to kick the car with her newfound power like only Lenalee would've done at any moment!
On the positive side, I was hoping to see her walk again like a normal girl, especially after watching the Ayase centric episode we got earlier in the story. (It was quite a good one)
By the way, the cheesiness continues in this episode as well (in every single scene) and everything reeks of Shounen giving us more and more info about the planned target of this anime series (that is NOT a seinen)

The good part arrives right at the end with the old man (I don't remember his name), probably still butt-hurt from losing Inori, declaring the infected zone as quarantined and off-limits while lying about the absence of survivors.
What now? Judging from the cheesiness of the last couple of episodes. I'm expecting the whole school (all the students at least) to rally and become some kind of rebels supporting Shu with their voids/Hearts in order to escape.
Try to think about it, now that Shu's powers are not limited anymore (the guy affected can use himself his own power) he can simply and without any kind of effort have an army of angsty teenagers with superpowers fighting against the military. (that is, if he can extract multiple voids at once...:|)

Concluding, I'm quite happy with the developments of Guilty Crown in this 13th episode and I'm eager to know more about how they will manage to free themselves from captivity.
I'll continue to watch and blog about this in the future as well.
See you soon,
