Rinne no Lagrange - Madoka! You need to the save the world!

Hello everyone,

Here we are to talk again about the winter season 2011/2012 action anime series named Rinne no Lagrange featuring one of the best animation of this season even while sporting a rather cliche storyline!

I'm getting more and more fond of Madoka's personality after this episode! She's really incredibly energetic and positive, it's refreshing when comparing this to the angst generated by Shu from Guilty Crown every single episode!

At the same time the cute and cool Lan, that had some kind of development in this episode, is proving to be a rather nice girl as well! Not sure about the third girl introduced though.

The episode continues from last week showing us a Madoka forcibly recruited into the army as robot pilot in order to fight the aliens who can end up attacking at any time in order to save their comrade.

To be completely honest, I think that the true enemy is that strange alien on the human side, controlling everything from behind! Don't ask me why, but I can't trust people doesn't open their eyes at any time in anime...:P

At the same time I'm not sure if the actual enemies will ever become friends in the future. This is especially true judging from the fact that they killed already plenty of humans in their attacks!

This is what I was referring to with the title of this post! You can't just simply toss out all the responsibilities of the world onto a little girl, even if she is as awesome as Madoka!

I really wonder when the other two girls will get their own robot to pilot as clearly shown in the opening animation. A battle three versus three would be interesting to watch...

I'm also curious on why the aliens are so persistent in pursuing these robots, especially when they have powerful robots of their own...

The episode concluded itself with a rather nice cliffhanger leaving Madoka is a rather critical situation. She's now alone to fight against the two remaining robots available to the aliens!

What will happen now in the next episode? I suppose that either Ran or the third girl will intervene to help Madoka fight these fierce enemies. Or well, to be honest Madoka may be able to just defeat them both using some wrestling move! :D

I'm not entirely sure that our allies will completely win, especially if I think that the enemy defeat would mean the end of the alien threat altogether...

Concluding, I'm extremely happy of Rinne no Lagrange till now and I plan to blog and watch this series in the future as well!

I doubt the 3 of them are the only enemies Madoka and Lan have to worry about. Like the closed-eyes guy said, once the war is over on their end, they'll immediately come for Earth. And perhaps there is something within Vox Aura that makes it a lot more powerful than any army of units, Vox Aura WAS able to punch through their sub-space shield thingies, they made it sound like a big deal.
I can't wait to see Lan in a unit as well, though she may need to hurry up and launch, that third guy seemed lightyears ahead of his two partners, in speed and power.

I'm starting to think that the ally alien is actually the true enemy of this whole incident!

I still have too little information to understand what exactly is powerful or not in this world, but I understand your point!

Yes, he is definitely on another level, but Madoka is awesome so she'll find a way to fight him...

Or maybe Lan will be able to move past Piercer Mode and pilot a robot as well :3
I don't get a bad feeling from the no-eyes guy, but he definitely isn't primarily concerned with the same things the Earth commander is.

he probably doesn't even care about the earth, and that makes him an enemy on my radar...

by the way, I wonder if they'll ever show us what is the club Madoka is the president of...:O

The Jersey Club, and she's the only member, from what I can tell, the Jersey Club is just a club for going around doing essentially anything that needs to be done, like she was a sparring partner for the kendo club, and an actress for the film club (back in the first episode).

I'm still not sure about that, probably she want to do something for the cultural Festival or something! I hope we would get some kind of pause, dedicated to the school. (with Lan in the mix as well...:O)

If it's properly placed and not just filler between fights, if the plot IS STILL MOVING, sure, I'd like some normal everyday activities, but not b.s. some extracurricular activities by putting off the real story.

I want to see Mugi in action. It only bugs me that we know nothing at all I hope they add soon some background information what is actually going on. Madoka is really some refreshing character. It looks like the show doesn't take itself too seriously what is not a bad thing.

Started watching Aria, it's slow but fun and ended Haibane which was nice too

well, if you think that this is a 24 episodes anime, it's reasonable we still don't have any background information! It will come with time I suppose...

I agreed that this show doesn't take itself too seriously, and is ending up to be better than Guilty Crown (not that it takes too much effort to do it)

Go for it, Aria is really a wonderful series!

I didn't want to watch Aquarion because it looked so cliche but it is fun and somehow reminds me on Frontier. And Nakajima Megumi but unfortunately she has only a supporting character, dammit. Then Hanazawa Kana and Kayano Ai - she fits much better here than playing Inori in GC.

There is something unexplained in this whole story! Hopefully they will make it clear in the next episode!

I agree with you, they are just calling it robots, but having a better name would be even easier to call them.

24 episodes, so we'll have plenty of Madoka to enjoy...

As all 3 Scifi-Badass babe shows continue their path to yuridom, it's hard to tell which of the 3 is the most popular in the nation.

Moving on to the episode: Madoka's Onee-chan's awesome. Loved the epic Bright Slap.
-I want more Muginami, or as I affectionately call her, Cherry.
-Lan does indeed harbor romantic feelings for Madoka. the question is whether they're filios or eros.
-Madoka in her side boob Gainax-esque Vox suit is my new Orangekini. So many teenage girls reminding me of my middle school sweetheart. Quite frightening I must say.

So imo, the anti-EVA continues to look awesome. I also read a "geezer" (I think you know who it is) address this show as Eureka 7. As someone who isn't growing gray hair yet, please explain the similarities, as the show looks more like an Evangelion I WOULD watch a 2nd time to me.

I would call Rinne a generic mecha show that's just fun and doesn't take itself too seriously - a reverse generic mecha show

I say to hell with the drama. Why do you think I don't like Mecha shows in the first place? Why do you think I have yet to watch a mecha show outside of Wing. I HATE emo male leads. I'd rather have a "supposedly" generic mecha show that I LIKE rather than just another emofest. I'd rather have fun watching cute girls kicking ass than a retarded male lead moping for 90% of the show and beating a megalomaniacal fiend.

I'm still going with my Lan wants Madoka theory. Because I swear if they turn the alien pretty boys into romantic interests, I'm so going to kill somebody.

I'm not sure they'll actually go the Yuri path here to be honest. The Yuri undertones were a lot bigger inside Symphogear.

In my eyes only Madoka is the Queen. Nobody else can stand against her.

I don't really think this show is similar to Eureka 7, at least till now. That show focused everything around the relationships between the characters and had a very shounen-like story of growth (try to think about Shu from Guilty Crown as the protagonist of Eureka Seven)

characters who dont open their eyes sure are mysterious...
i think the only ones who can pilot are the 3 main characters making everyone else the thinkers of the operation. that and the battle ships that do no damage.

I played a lot of visual novels and every time a character don't open his eyes (despite being able to see) turn out to be a murderer or something similar...

that's what I think as well, but I'm not sure about how the enemy actually fit in this situation...

Oho Mugi seems like a interesting character.

But Madoka will still be my favourite. Her personality rocks!
