Hello everyone,
Here we are, after two weeks of wait due to the holiday break, to talk about the anime series Guilty Crown that finally manages to complete the first main story arc and (just as Rei predicted) is looking more and more like Gurren Lagann in terms of plot development...
I was appalled by the cheap and cheesy "emotional" death of Gai and the whole affair revolving around the incident was badly explained and with too few details to make any sense.
They also killed off Mana without even giving us enough time to know her better (aside from her "shota" preferences well explained in this episode) or even a chance to save her from that horrible destiny. Since when being killed again by your own brother and lover is "salvation"?

This episode was quite fast paced jumping from flashbacks revolving around Shu's past (quite detailed scenes) to action scenes trying to save Inori from the "lolicon" (that doctor gives me these vibes) clutches!
I wonder if Inori will get a new proper personality (similar to Mana would be great) now that she's free from her "role" as a key to awaken Mana....
To be honest, this episode of Guilty Crown was well above the average anime episode of the last couple of years in terms of production quality, but strangely I can't seem to be able to go over the story cheesiness...
Yes, Mana was a beautiful cougar predating over little whiny Shu! This revelation was quite abrupt during the episode and I laughed a lot thinking about the consequences of it...:P
The other question I have are all regarding Gai's past. What's his real identity? Why he was on the beach with all these injury marks? What has he done in these years before becoming a rebel?
All these information are completely missing from the story and it sad that we will probably never heard about them again...:(

This episode also introduce us a lot of additional information revolving Mana (she's Shu's blood related sister) and around Shu as well (his rejection of Mana is the main reason of the lost christmas incident).
At the same time though, they don't give us any clear direction on where the story is going leaving me completely clueless to make a prediction for the next episode...
Will we get a time skip like in Gurren Lagann? Who will be the next foe? Who will guide the rebels? Will Shu grow up to be like Simon now that he awakened his real power?

White extremely critical about Guilty Crown, I'm still enjoying the whole story and I'll continue to watch and blog this series in the future as well.
See you soon,
