Hello everyone,
Here we are to talk about the 13th and last episode of the first season of Fate Zero that leave us with a very big cliffhanger (Rider, Lancer and Saber attacking Caster) and no battles at all in pure trolling style.
Fortunately the talk between Waver and Rider was excellent and really improved my opinion of Rider. He's even more likable than I first thought...
The second season is slated to air in the spring season 2012 starting in April so there is quite a big gap in between the two seasons. I will probably need to watch the first season again just before april in order to prepare myself for the second one...:)

This whole episode was dedicated to the Waver/Rider pair, with the first having a dream from his servant in a similar way to what happened many times to Shirou during the fifth war.
We finally get to know a bit more about Rider's past and his real desire to get the holy grail (to see the ocean he longed while alive). I have to say that watching Rider care about Waver was quite heartwarming...
Knowing Waver future position as explained from the original Fate/Stay Night game (Rin True ending) and watching this episode confirmed my feelings that his experience with Rider in the fourth war was the key to his success.
In a proper trollish fashion the episode end with this short scene of Saber, Rider and Lancer attacking the monster-Caster in order to end his life once and for all before he becomes too powerful.
I have to say that Ryuunosuke's talk with Caster before the great battle was remarkable. He really don't look the cold crazy monster I knew from some episodes ago and I wonder if he has some special reason for needing the grail.
I'm also curious about how Saber will be able to fight against a proper servant like Caster with her wrist injury.

I'm not sure they will be the only one partecipating to this final battle because judging from the preview both Gilgamesh and Berserker will appear in the next episode.
Speculating on the next season is pretty much pointless at this point, but knowing that we have only 12 remaining additional episodes in the second season I'm sure we'll get our share of action.
This is particularly true if we think that 6 of the 7 heroes are still alive and kicking. I just wonder if it'll be really Caster the first one to go...

Concluding, Fate Zero, despite the trolling, is continuing to be an entertaining series that I'll watch and blog in the second season as well.
We just have to wait 3 months and half now to get the next episode...:(
See you soon,
