Hello everyone,
Today we'll talk about the 11th and 12th episode of the anime series Kyoukai Senjou No Horizon that with its 12th episode and lengthy talk between Toori and Horizon marked its way into the list of "best anime of this season". (even if we still have another episode to watch)
I have to say that after all that infodump in the previous episodes I wasn't expecting such a wonderful scene and interesting dialogue between the two lovers.
I also liked how they managed for all the time to keep down gore even during the battles. It is definitely a refreshing series compared to many other "more anticipated" of this season like Fate/Zero or Guilty Crown.

The 11th episode continues to focus on the battle with the Pope's armies using a massive power drain weapon (one of the weapon created from Horizon) only to get overcome by Toori "happiness power".
The whole battle continues to keep the light hearted theme that we're so used to with the enemies/friends not even trying to kill someone. I laughed out loud at the Pope vs Honda Masazumi "fight", it was really hilarious...
The episode ended with the victory over the demon by two of our heroes and the anticlimatic "defeat" of Honda Futayo against Muneshige...

Fortunately Futayo managed to get back on her feet in the 12th episode, defeat Muneshige and save Musashi. At the same time from the other side Toori Aoi finally manages to reach Horizon's prison...
...and the final confrontation begins. One in which, with a really nice dialogue and arguments from both side, Toori manages to convince Horizon to "ask to be saved" and uncover her real personality.
A bit robot-like, but extremely extremely cute! I loved how she changed face into SD mode when joking with Toori at the very end, it was the proof that Horizon is really inside that doll.
...and after all these battles, we do get our happy end for Horizon that is now safe thanks to Toori and the others. By the way it was really great the arrangement to match up this scene with the start of the ED song!
Now a whole new chapter begins with the declaration of war made by Toori to the rest of the world in order to recover all the weapons and restore the original personality of Horizon.
This "world war" together with the struggle to recover Horizon's emotions will be the focus of the second season set to air in Summer 2012.

Concluding, even with still one episode remaining I can safely say that Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon is one of the best series of this season.
Combining great animation, great voice actors and a compelling storyline is a suggested watch for anyone who wants to watch a light hearted action series with plenty of interesting concepts.
I'm looking forward to watch and blog the final episode of this first season as well as the second season when it will air in Summer 2012.
See you soon,
