Hello everyone,
Today we'll cover the last episode of the anime series Cube X Cursed X Curious that concludes this first season in a very open-end way leaving plenty of possibilities for a second season in the future.
I quite liked how they managed to bring a bit of closure in the current plot while leaving plenty of possibilities to do additional seasons in the future by showing us the future enemies and leaving Fear situation as is...
The final battle was really interesting to watch, especially as soon as the Shiraho/Sovereignty pair enter the scene. Shiraho is really growing up on me in terms of personality after that scene...
The episode start right from the battle against Alice and her overpowered tools (the animation was a bit bad in these few moments) that defeated with ease Konoha, Fear and Kirika leaving our team with a broken morale.
Alice's personality is not a chaotic evil like I thought, because she do have some kind of rules and her actions are all bound toward protecting the cursed tools.
We didn't had much info on her past, but it is implied that she was saved by a cursed tool (maybe that guy at the end?!) from a dire situation.
At the climax moment, Shiraho and Sovereigny appear to help our heroes in the battle against Alice and manage to destroy one of Alice's cursed tool freeing Kuroe with her tentacle power!
It was hilarious to watch Shiraho's speech and her embarassed reaction soon after and I have to say her character is really growing on me!
The rest of the battle is pretty much clichè with our heroes defeating Alice that manages to run away supported by other members of the "family".
What now? Well, this season ended showing us many new characters that will be probably the focus of future arcs. The most interesting one is the guy that really resemble Kirika and that may be her brother or close relative!
The introduction of so many new characters may be also a way to hint that a new season will be produced in the near future.
As usual everything will depend on the performance of the DVD/BD/Goods sales that makes up most of the revenue for the animation company and the original author.
Concluding, Cube X Cursed X Curious has been, a really enjoyable experience using the combination of great animation, amiable characters and interesting storyline alternated to comedy/fanservice moments!
I suggest this series to anyone looking for a simple action series featuring beautiful girls to watch without much commitment.
Visual Points : 835/1000 (The director from Baka Test has done a great job here. One of the best animation of the season)
Audio Points : 800/1000 (Nice voices and nice songs)
Story Points : 800/1000 (Good story that while being clichè is quite interesting)
Entertainment Points : 850/1000 (The whole series was really an enjoyable experience with all the funny moments put randomly through the series)
Characters Points : 725/1000 (Except for Kirika there are no really interesting characters in this series, forgettable at best)
Final Points : 16.305/20.000
