Hello everyone,
Here we are to talk about the 9th episode of the first season of the fall 2011 anime series Fate/Zero that is going back to the initial slow pacing with little to none real development in this episode, leaving us much hope for the remaining few episodes...
I am going to tell this now, before anyone asks. No, I'm not calling dibs for Sola Ui, she's just insane more than "amiable" and differently from Yuno (Mirai Nikki) she's not even that hot to be worth the risk...
Did you see those dead eyes she had while torturing Archibald?! She has totally no heart and I'm starting to think she won't make through this war...
This episode is mainly divided into two part. The first one focus on the complicated love/hate relationship between Sola-Ui, Archibald and Lancer. While it may look like the typical triangle relationship, its actually something a lot more scary than that...
Lancer is trying to repair to what he has done while alive (betraying his lord) by using all his power to protect his master, Sola Ui is trying to seduce Lancer while Archibald is just crying after losing his magical circuits. :P
After this episode, I'm starting to think that not only Archibald, but even Sola Ui is going to die in this war. Especially now that she got the magical command marks...
The second part as you can see here, focus on Rider and Waver finally facing their first real enemy in combat. Yes, because while they were pursuing Caster (destroying hordes of those strange monsters), they get attacked by Assassin.
Fortunately for Waver, Rider is completely superior to the poor equipped Assassin. In order to make Assassin run away he didn't even had to use his special power. We also get a glimpse of Kotomine Kirei planning to assassinate Waver in order to defeat Rider as soon as possible.
I still don't understand why Tokiomi simply doesn't go hunting the other Servants as he has, after all, the most powerful servant of the war...
Now what will be the focus of the following episodes? It seems to me that the final battles of this first season will be focused on Rider Vs Assassin, Saber/Lancer Vs Caster and Kiritsugu vs Kayneth/Sola Ui.
The outcome of these battles is pretty much obvious to me (Assassin, Caster and Lancer will inevitably die), but it is still interesting to speculate on how they'll reach such an outcome.
I also wonder where is Caster's master and what exactly is he doing. He wasn't with Caster during the attack to Iris's castle in the middle of the forest so I have the fear Caster just killed him already...
Concluding, I'm pretty happy of the current status of Fate / Zero and I'm eager to see how the story will continue in the following episodes.
