Guilty Crown - Inori sure has some personality to do that jump!

by feal874. November 2011 00:44

Hello everyone,

Here we are for our weekly talk on Guilty Crown (fourth episode), an anime series of this packed Fall 2011 season that sports one of the best graphical quality of the recent years together with amiable characters and an interesting plot.

The series continues to deliver more of the same with a nice consistency in visuals and story. We get plenty of battles, cute moments and "Just as planned" moments for all our characters.

And yes, we got a really nice share of Inori moments in this episode as well, she's really starting to get more and more likable on my eyes even if her lack of personality is still somehow hurting me.

Guilty Crown

The episode continues where we left it off last episode with the GHQ members arresting our protagonist and trying to get out of him informations over the leadership of the rebels with little luck.

This is where the new "clown" character in the GHQ decide to use the "propaganda" card and start revealing gray information over the rebels all at once to make our protagonist lose faith in Gai and in the whole rebel structure.

In the midst of all this Gai start his operation to save another member of the rebels imprisoned trying to get Shuu to partecipate in his grand plan detailed till the last second like always.

Guilty Crown

This is when Inori appear breaking Gai orders just to save Shuu from harm and reunite with him. I'll be honest, in my mind I heard Inori saying either "Gai, U mad?" or "Problem, officer?" with a troll face. :P

But well, everything resolve itself with Shuu cutting his way through tens of Mechas with Inori's big sword (really overpowered that weapon) and everything is happy end.

Now the only remaining qestions are on that communication device left by the clown to our protagonist to call him to arrest/kill Gai. Will Shuu really use it? What will happen to Inori?

Oh god, I had to re-watch this scene multiple times before writing this post. Inori is so cute and emotional at the same time...I want to hug her now!

I love how the director is giving extreme focus on Inori's beauty and mannerism, every scene where she appear is a treat for my eyes!

I wonder when we'll get some new Tsugumi fanservice scene though...:P

Guilty Crown

Concluding, I'm still very happy with the progression of the series till now and I have to give kudos to director and scriptwriter for their good work.

I'm extremely waiting for the next episode to get to know how this story will continue and how they'll answer to our questions!

See you soon,

So she wasn't captured?

No, at all, they just run away easily after destroying everything.

Inori....(even Tooru is like "damn")
Along with great views (Inori...fufufu) the battles are most epic, and I think the high point of my week is getting to see Guilty Crown. It's just that good, the designs, the characters, the plot, it's all top notch (I hope this doesn't ruin other series for me :3 )

Tooru will betray Run for Inori?! :O

Battles are great, but Inori's sword is a bit overpowered. He just destroy everything in that form.

Let's see what will happen from now on...

Gai was especially awesome, both normal Gai and the lawyer one

Inori seems so lucky. She can just jump into any situation and it works out perfectly for her. That's some pretty badass girl power. The new evil is obviously up to no good. I can't wait to see how he comes into the story later on.

That's the beautiful girl plot armor, the more beautiful a girl is, the less likely she is going to suffer any kind damage.

The new evil is strange, especially as he really helped Shuu at the very end...

Well shooting in the head of a sniper pointing his gun to Shuu marks that as "helping" regardless of reasons.

Oh yeah, judging from the plot outlook at the moment Inori is a superdimensional fortress.

with some scenes I wonder how could they manage to make it so cliche - like the last scenes with Inori, where she goes for Shu, jumps from the building, Shu says "can I trust you" -then a generic VN adaption feels more original
Inori takes precious screen time from Tsugumi

Yeah, the clichè are strong in this series, but it isn't as bad as it could be. I just hope they'll give both Shuu and Inori some personality development down the story...

Where is my butt button pressing by Tsugumi? We need more of it...

Inori singing along to her own song..Inori-ception, lol ^^

Shu may still have some trust issues, and, while having that transmitter thing, it gives him an option to actually fight Gai and the Undertakers. I guess it all boils down to how much he can believe in Inori.

too little screen time for Ayase >.<

My first thought during the final battle:
Will Shu ever be able to fondle Inori's breasts or he's going to find her void in his hands whenever he tries?

Basing on the rules of the void, as long as he doesn't make eye contact he should be fine. But knowing Inori it wouldn't make the same effect as with Iinchou, she's so passive to everything.

Had to watch the end several times, because I am not sure Shu keep the tracking pen or ditched it. Trying to like his character, but I am still somewhat indifferent.

Btw: Kana is doing great vocal work as Ayase. I can barely tell it is her at some points from all the previous work she has done where the voices sound nearly similar.

Thought as much for the new series, since most wallpaper for them are impossible to find.

I have a feeling that Segai will turn up to be a "Diethard Reid" in Code Geass considering how his "fascination" after seeing Shouma use his power can be drawn similarly with Diethard's fascination with Zero.

That aside, I never expected for Inori to show this much emotion. Her docile nature has been deceptive ever since episode 1. Stereotypically speaking, these characters are the damsels in distress but we have seen Inori use a gun (attempted to kill Shu's "friend") and charge bravely across the battlefield making her incredibly awsm!

I thought the same and I hope not as I hated that guy in Code Geass and I would end up hating this guy as well in this production if that is the case.

Inori changes incredibly whenever Shuu is involved. I wonder if we'll see her show a real personality by the end of the series, with a smile and some laugh.
