Hello everyone,
Today we'll talk about the third episode of the fall 2011 anime series Shakugan no Shana Final that in typical J.C. Staff fashion start to show fillers and flashbacks from older episodes.
Yes, this episode was mostly dedicated with Yuuji wandering in Misaki city remembering the past events of the first two seasons with high focus on the role of Shana and a couple of new scenes here and there.
This may be seen as a way to confirm us the truth (that we already know) that Yuuji choosed Shana at the end of the second season and is now pursuing his objective of saving Shana from the eternal battle with the Bal Masque/Denizens.

When you see the new Yuuji you can immediately notice how much his personality and voice tone has changed over the course of this little time after merging with the Snake of the Festival and becoming one with him.
I'm still not entirely sure what is his plan to save Shana from the Denizens once and for all, but I think that will be Shana to remember him that killing is bad no matter the reason.
After all, he ordered the death of that flame haze of the last episode and is, in the end, responsable in the same way as Sydonay of that death.
This scene was literally WONDERFUL. The whole music/song arrangement, Yuuji's voice, and the final long distance shot showing Shana and Yuuji facing each other and being ready to fight.
I am impressed by the voice performance of Satoshi Hino in Yuuji's role, his pitch tone changed a lot from the previous seasons and really look like a different guy altogether than the whiny protagonist we got to know in the first two seasons.

At this point I have many questions revolving around Yuuji they'll need to answer in the future episodes.
For example, after Shana will lose (she has to otherwise there would be no point in this whole affair), what will happen to Misaki City? Will Yuuji just get Shana and go away, or will he destroy the city altogether?!
What will be the role of the sexy rejected Yoshida in this last season? Will she really use that item given by Pheles? I don't think Pheles can stand against the Snake of the Festival so there isn't much point in calling her, or not?

Concluding, I'm a lot positive on the outlook of this series and I hope J.C. Staff will be able to impress us with the upcoming battle between our dear Shana and Yuuji!
See you soon,

P.S. I'm trying to be pretty spoiler-free for Shakugan no Shana, even if I know that the light novel is already completed. :)
