Hello everyone,
Today we'll talk about the fourth episode of the fall 2011 anime series Cube X Cursed X Curious that is turning out to be more interesting than anyone would have ever wondered just by reading the previews.
Yes, because this series is alternating cute moments to gore moments making it difficult to understand what exactly they are planning to do with this story even in a small single episode timeframe.
This episode continue on the "old lady" enemy arc and continue to picture her as the complete evil character with no redeeming features altogether. She even killed her own ally because she was a "traitor"...
I'm pretty sure that the little girl/cursed tool named Mummy Maker that was "killed" in this episode will come back in a future episode as a supporting character or friend of some sort.
Why? Because Cube X Cursed X Curious just doesn't look like one that will kill in a definitive way any character. Also, little girls generally have immunity to death in recent anime series...:P
Fear also got some level of development in this fourth episode. She faced her own evil self and from the look of it, she overcome it and is ready to help Konoha and Haruaki in the next episode against "miss evilness".
This is the "issue" or maybe feature of this series, between a gore scene and another they fill in this kind of comedy/cute scenes and completely disorient the viewer that start to be unable to predict the next scene.
The family warm environment that is generating between the three girls (Kirika, Konoha and Fear) and Haruaki is pretty nice to watch.
I wonder if Kirika Ueno will move in the same apartment sooner or later, because her tsundere attitude would be a nice addition in the main comedy cast.
I'm also curious about who is exactly Ueno Kirika, she definitely doesn't look like a normal human, but I'm still not entirely convinced she is a cursed tool either...
In fact, she was talking with someone on the phone and everything seems to make her linked somehow to the cursed tool world...
Next episode will continue and complete the final battle between Fear/Konoha and Miss Evilness in which Kirika will likely partecipate in some way.
After that? Who knows! Maybe we'll be back to the regular school comedy/romance genre. I would like to see some catfight between the three girls...:P
I'm looking forward the future episodes as well and I will probably continue blogging this series pretty regularly.
