Hello everyone,
Here we are back to talk about the fourth episode of the fall 2011 anime series Fate/Zero that finally after many introduction episodes give us a nice and fierce battle between Lancer and Saber.
While the battle was definitely better than the slow-paced introduction episodes, it still just isn't at the same level of the theatrical version of Kara no Kyoukai done by the same company.
It seems that, unfortunately, budgets between TV series and Theatrical series is quite different and will lead to very different results in terms of animation quality.

The battle was fast-paced and really interesting to watch, especially considering the special powers of Lancer's weapons. One lance absorb magic, the other curse the flesh blocking regeneration magic.
The personality of Lancer of this fourth war remind me a lot of the Lancer of the fifth as they both hate tricks and subtle attacks (at least till now) and love to fight openly and fairly against their opponents.
Saber was really careless in this battle by judging that "servants can only have one weapon", because unfortunately that line shouldn't be picked up literally as shown in many other cases of servants.
Oh well, Iskandar is a wonderful character with a great personality. He's most surely the servant I most like of the bunch of this fourth war together with our cute Saber.
I loved how he entered the stage and declared "finished" the battle because he is a "king". He even declared his real name and position that is a thing that rarely servants do.
While his endeavour will ultimately fail (as shown in the preview), it was funny to see how he did not notice that Saber is in fact a king as well, or should I say queen?!

Now we can say that the real story begins, Kiritsugu has detected Assassin and the very fact that he's still alive and I'm curious about the anti-servant equipment they were talking about in this episode.
Next episode it seems will continue the battle that will escalate a lot more involving the three heroes and two masters. Yes, because Rider's master is completely useless!
I'm not sure about this, but I think I heard Caster's voice in the preview. Will he partecipate as well in this battle? Why would he intervene?

The series is starting to get interesting and I'm in serious need of more battles with my Saber as protagonist!
I'll, of course, continue to watch and blog about this regularly!
See you soon,

P.S. I was with the same face of Saber and Lancer when Rider entered the scene. :D
