Hello everyone,
Here we are to talk about the third episode of the fanservice/comedy/battle anime series Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai airing in this packed fall season 2011.
The series is configuring itself as a 1 cour series trying to fit inside the small timeframe all the routes at once, before heading to the true ending.
I noticed this trend because this third episode cover part (a mere 3-4% really of the original two routes) of the Mayuzumi Yukie and Miyako Shiina's routes.

This episode between a couple of jokes and a couple of fanservice scenes (totally exaggerated compared to the original material that was really tame), tried to fit in a bit of backstory for both Miyako and Yukie in ten minutes each...
Unfortunately it fails hard due to the time constriction as both girl would have needed 2-3 episodes to play out their real story.
They ended up this way creating two uninteresting storylines based on pieces of story that probably make little sense to anyone who hasn't already played the game.

It is a bit sad to see this adaptation go slowly toward the "just fit in badly-censored fanservice and we'll sell anyway" approach that it's getting more common in the anime industry recently.
Regardless of the circumstances, I am still happy to see my dear Mayuzumi/Matsukaze pair and I'm eagerly waiting for the BD/DVD version.
Yes, because it seems that AT-X as well is airing the fully censored version this time around, making the BD/DVD our only choice for some Miyako/Yukie real fanservice time.
Yukie is definitely my favourite character while Miyako is the second favourite. How can you resist when you have such a cute/beautiful girl like Yukie in front of you?
By the way, I'm impressed by the great work done by Yuko Goto in playing out both Matsukaze and Yukie in a wonderful monologue in the bath.
While it was done as a way to compress hours of story in a really short summary, her voice really livened up the scene!

Regardless of the bad outlook, I'll continue to keep a look on this series hoping for an interesting comeback as soon as the true route material will start to unfold.
I only wonder how much of the real route they'll adapt as it was pretty long in my memory...
See you soon,
