Hello everyone,
Let's go talk about the third episode of the series that won the "unexpected development award" thanks to the fast change of pace they had with these last two episodes.
They switched rapidly from a cute love comedy theme to a gore filled action theme while keeping the "same" cast.
I'm talking, of course, of Cube X Cursed X Curious, a series that really shines thanks to the primary female heroine named Fear Kubrick.
The episode start with a bang showing us the other side of our heroine Fear, the most dark side I've ever saw in such a cute anime girl to date.
A cursed tool capable of summoning various torture tools (over 50 different types from what I've read online) of various eras using these items as weapons against the enemy.
The laughs, gestures and the voice of this Fear was completely different from the normal one and I have to say that Yukari Tamura is doing a great job portraying her transition to madness.
The annoying old lady get defeated in seconds by Fear using the guillotine to cut her only remaining claw in a very gore scene...
She was about to die, when she get saved at the last second by one of her allies. I wonder if we'll have to bear her obnoxious existence much longer as I hate her character.
Fear afterward try to kill herself to avoid hurting any other people in the future, but our protagonist manage to save and take her back home.
Yes, fortunately Fear is back to be the cute, lovable girl that we all knew! I just hope she don't awaken too often, because her evil side is incredibly scary! :|
These comedy/fanservice moments are really nice to see after that big battle because they give us the sensation that everything is back to be alright!
By the way, I heard and was impressed the full version of the OP theme "Endless Story" by Yukari Tamura. Give it a shot if you're looking for a new anisong to listen in the free time! :P
