Hello everyone,
Today we'll talk about the 11th episode of the anime series Mawaru Penguindrum that start to shed some light (faint, but better than nothing...) over the backstory intertwining all the characters together in this complex storyline.
I was rather surprised to see that Ringo had a more deep link to Shoma and Kanba than I previously thought.
This 11th episode is pretty slow as far as story development goes, and focus on the aftermath of Ringo losing all parts of Momoka's diary, becoming alone together with her feelings for Tabuki/Shoma.

First of all, we get to know that the Masako/Mario pair don't have the full diary, but only the front part of it. That means the biker is someone else interested in this whole affair, but that is still in hiding from the spotlight.
Who? That's a nice question! I heard of many people thinking Yuri as a possible culprit, but I'm not convinced, especially knowing that she had plenty of occasions to steal the diary without anyone noticing (like when Ringo was drowning in one of the early episodes). She also doesn't look to have any particular motive to pursue such actions...
We also get to know that exist a particular organization, that both Masako and Kanba refers as "they", with which they had some relationship in the long past...

This organization may actually be linked to the somewhat sad scene of countless childrens into a warehouse, shown in the flashback from Himari in the Library.
Judging from the talks, and trying to speculate a little, it looks to me that in the long past (14 years ago) a lot of childrens got kidnapped by someone and taken to that warehouse where Kanba and Himari exchanged the promise. (confirming this way Kanba as love interest for Himari)
In that incident, some of the choices made by Kanba/Shoma/Himari to save themselves from the kidnappers caused Momoka's death. (maybe Momoka tried to save them?!)
Yes, Ringo is as crazy as ever in this episode as well. As you can see, she abuse of Shoma even more now that she knows of her true feelings for him! Do anyone sees a yandere flag rising here?!
I also liked Yuri's cool way to face Ringo and the whole situation of the hypnotized Tabuki. She sure looks like she knows a lot about this whole situation, I wonder how and if Tabuki is implicated with Momoka's death...

As usual, Mawaru Penguindrum does a great job creating anticipation in our hearts with carefully cut previews of the next episode.
It seems next week it will be another Ringo's centric episode, why I am not surprised? :P
See you soon,
