Hello everyone,
Let's go talk about the 8th episode of the summer season loli basketball anime series named Ro Kyu Bu. This series has a really low-quality animation, but it is quite funny and enjoyable to watch thanks to the focus on jokes and fanservice that they're retaining till now.
This 8th episode is dedicated to my favourite heroine Aoi Ogiyama, the childhood friend of Subaru and a talented basketball player that after much tribulations learns the truth about Subaru's mysteriously changed behaviour.
Yes, if you remember she discovered in the previous episode that Subaru is doing the coach for a team of elementary schoolgirls and this is causing him to not focus on his own studies. (and on Aoi of course, because every childhood friend want some love!)
Aoi after learning the truth, especially the lame "learning to swim" part of the excuse, is really ready to take him away and decide to challenge the girls together with two of her friends (Kakizono and Mishouji) in a basketball match. Who win will "gain" Subaru! (Ok, this was definitely lame. Is he a car or what?)
The swimsuit basketball game (it was done for fanservice purpose I suppose) is pretty much one-sided with the Aoi team definitely superior, but after watching the strength of will of the girls Aoi decide its enough and resign from the game letting Tomoka and friend win Subaru's attention.
Looking the characters I can say that Aoi has grown a lot as a character with this episode and she's now my best character out of all the one shown till now with Tomoka right behind her. (Dere-Dere Tomoka has charm after all)
I was also quite attracted to the beautiful Aoi's friends Kakizono and Mishouji, these three girls together are really another level compared to the elementary schoolgirl team. (I also love how they call him "sensei")
I wonder if there will be some added drama in this series at all (Someone who read the novels may tell me more about it), looking from the current outlook it seems like it will end with the girls doing some important match and that's it...
Honestly, I was hoping for some "discovered by the school" event with the girls banding together to save Subaru, but it seems really unlikely right now...
Next week it looks like there will be more filler with the summer vacation! Who is in for more swimsuit scenes?!
