Hello everyone,
Here we are for another post today regarding the seventh episode of the anime series Baka To Test To Shoukanjuu. I've made this exception to the rule "one post per day", because this episode really blasted me away with something I would have NEVER expected that would happen to my favourite character of this show (Minami Shimada)
This episode start with a rather innocuous scene in which our guys continue to plan the attack to the female bathroom, and decide to use the charm of the girls they know to recruit the high level classes (C, B and A) males to fight against the defending army of teachers/girls. (otherwise it would end up in the same way of the previous episodes with some terrible defeat)
Akihisa (stupid as he is) while sending messages to the girls end up mixing a message destinated to a male classmate and send a "Because I love it! Its obvious!" to Minami! (in japanese its more ambiguous as the "it" part isn't specified and can be understood as a "Because I love you"). This happening was right after leaved alone without much developing apart from a quick scene in the middle of the night, but I knew something was definitely off...
Yes, the moment I noticed Minami wasn't in the defending army I started to think that something was clearly off. Was she still blushing in her room? It was different from the normal pattern of the "break the spine to Akihisa" that we were used to.
The battle was rather intense with the great strategies pretty much like those who were used in the first season and after a bit of struggle (especially Akihisa vs Tetsujin), the battle end and the male army wins. I am honestly impressed by really nice animation they used this time around. I especially loved both Tsuchiya battle and Kubo's appearence to defend Akihisa.
Unfortunately our heroes only manages to get a grandma shot in the bathroom and the identity of the culprit of the stolen photos (the annoying Minami's stalker).
The camp end and they all return to school again, Akihisa is walking and meets Himeji and the others and slowly walk toward the school when...
...Minami jump and kiss him in front of everyone!
I'll be honest, the series could end here at this point and I would be the most happy man on earth. I never thought Minami had a chance to even get close to Akihisa! A kiss was something that rarely a non-main-heroine is able to steal to his love. Especially in these series with a rather light comedy that bases itself around the love relationships.
What about the next episode? I suppose there will be some kind of battle between Himeji and Minami to get Akihisa heart, but I don't care honestly.
For me this series ended up with an happy ending in this seventh episode! Minami, you win!
