Hello everyone
And here we are to talk about the 20th episode of the sci-fi anime series Steins Gate that finally with the last intermediate storyline reveal us the most important twist from the start of the series that is the identity of the mysterious leader of the rounders with codename FB.
After much work of tailing, Moeka and Okabe finally identify the identity of FB in our Mr Braun. I suspected it was him, but thinking back to the Mayuri's deaths I feel a little of rage and disgust...
Unfortunately he had quite some life or death reasons for doing his job and not escaping from the CERN and honestly I would have done the same to keep my dear child Nae safe and sound as long as possible.
I expected him to revolt more violently against Okabe and maybe injuring him before going inevitably down, but the story twisted quite a lot at this point. Yes, because he just ended up killing Moeka (pre-destined death) and suiciding after completing his mission.
He thought it was the only way to save his child Nae after completing his job as he was the only one to know about SERN. (the other rounders will all be killed anyway from what I understand of the CERN way...)
I have a speculation on this side, but Nae may be the child Suzuha had with Mr Braun in the past. Their similiarity is very marked as shown in the little scene we had today of Nae alone in the house, especially if you look at her physical appearance! Does this makes Daru a grandfather already?! :O
On the other side, just after reverting this other d-mail Okabe finally remember the most important detail of this whole story (what was he thinking about till now?!) that is "Makise dies in the original timeline". I wonder what he's going to do now...
Will he continue in his pursuit for the safety of his beloved Mayuri? Or he will try to find another way out to keep both girls alive with him? I'm pretty sure Makise will survive the end of the series, but I'm not really sure what will be the medium that will save her from certain death.
I also wonder if this whole time travel incident will just remain a memory of Okabe after his last jump to the beta timeline as he is the only one at the moment who has the power to keep memories through jumps. (both Ruka and Feyris lost it after reverting the d-mail)
I also wonder how Okabe just got his power to retain memory. Judging from the plot till now he has for sure received some time manipulation in the past when he got that really bad cold that they talked about with Mayuri in the first couple of episodes...
I'm also a lot interested in the meaning of the words of Kurisu in the first episode "what were you trying to tell me 15 minutes ago with that incredibly fretted face", do this means that in the beta timeline he use a real time machine to go back in time and save Kurisu from dying?! Or what?
Only few episodes remaining, will our heroes reach the so-desired happy end?
