Today we'll talk about the sixth and seventh episode of Yuruyuri, one of the best comedy series of this summer season 2011 that added in the classic mix composed by four girls (that we saw in a lot of other series) that bit of yuri power that enabled this series to catch a greater audience and become quite an interesting show.
The sixth episode focused on the main group of four girls and did not have a major storyline to focus (pretty much like always after all when we talk about this series), but was mostly idle chatting between the girls. Between the many gags I dearly remember Chinatsu's terrifying hand drawn images and the sculpture play suggested by Kyouko.
Unfortunately they censored Chinatsu's sculpture, but we can suppose it was really scary...too much to be shown in a normal broadcast. I wonder where that girl got such a powerful weap...artistic sense!
Another interesting part of the sixth episode is in the Chinatsu forced cosplay scene of "Majokko Mirakurun" after a relative of Yui (a little child) ended up confusing her for the heroine. Chinatsu sure was able to show a different face/personality of her during that time.
As always everything started by a Kyouko idea, I wonder how she's able to create comedy in every situation with her ideas!
The seventh episode switched to include the minor cast as well (Thanks god as I'm falling in love more and more with Ayano's rational personality) and, thanks to an idea from Kyouko, created a very interesting Christmas episode showing us character developments in some particular couples of this series. The idea is pretty simple, do a lottery and decide four couples that will pass the christmas together as lovers!
Honestly speaking some of the pairs were very unexpected. Especially the Ayano/Yui one and the Chinatsu/Kyouko one, I would have bet in an exchange between the two group to create the "canon" couples, but it turned out wonderfully this way as well!
The most important development was in the Chinatsu/Kyouko pair that finally is becoming more friendly. This is one of the developments I was more expecting from this series and they've gone as far as to make them hold hands while walking! Chinatsu slowly melted to Kyouko energetic and kind personality and that's a good thing!
I noticed that in the recent episodes Akari (that is supposedly the main character) is getting less and less screentime and is slowly falling down as a secondary character compared to the duo Kyouko/Chinatsu. These two are literally monopolizing the gags with great variety and consistency! (even if the o-dango bazooka from Akari wasn't bad as idea)
From the preview of the next episode it looks like we'll get more Ayano/Kyouko action in the next episode with more "delusion" power as well. I'm looking forward to it and I wonder if Kyouko will wear some new custome next episode. She was really charming with that Santa's costume at the beginning of the seventh episode!
Isn't the couple Ayano/Kyouko incredibly cute to watch(see wallpaper above)?! We need more screentime with their relationship as focus!!!
