Hello everyone,
Here we are to talk about the most scary episode that I experienced in this summer season 2011 that is the fourth episode of Dantalian no Shoka featuring a deranged fan of a romance novel author. If the presence of a fan wasn't enough (they're scary and you know it!), this fan in question had a magical book to add even more problems into the whole mix!
This episode of Dantalian no Shoka get us back to the "normal" quality of the work shown in the first two episodes with great storytelling, interesting stories and cute Dalian expressions. Let's just forget about the third episode fail for a while and let's go ahead with this show, there is hope for the future!
The episode, as I said before, talked about a romance novel author of which Dalian loves a particular novel (that looks like something BL unfortunately) that get stalked and killed multiple time together with his lover by a crazy middle-aged woman (she reeks of obaa-san from her look) that want his own favourite character of that particular novel to have an happy ending in the story.
To be honest I can relate with the hate and rage you get from having your favourite character get a bad end in the storyline (see HoshiKaka and many other anime original ending), but normally people don't go with a rifle to eliminate the author. Especially they generally don't have a magical book that allow them to resurrect the author multiple times until he manages to write up an ending conform with your expectations. 
I liked the way Dalian answered to the whole situation of the bad ending (that by the way was really bad even for Dalian as the character end up with a woman instead of following the normal BL canon) by saying "let's write up the ending by ourselves" to Huey that is anyway, the core of the whole doujinshi world isn't it?!
The presence of Dalian and Huey in this episode was not very important as everything end up being resolved by itself and their position looked more like some kind of narrator of the story, more than part of it. Yes, because the lady is attacked and killed by the two lovers that merged together in some kind of monster born by the uncontrolled reaction to the infinite-kill-works they received from the crazed lady. (it looks a lot reminiscent of that crappy monster they used in the anime original ending of Prism Ark)
After the lady is killed I was expecting some fight against Huey to put it into control, but it disappeared without leaving any trace... (and without any reason to be honest)
I'm honestly missing having Huey go in cool mode and save the odds with some random magical spell "extracted" from Dalian and I hope they'll go back to this formula in the next episodes.
What about next episode? Well, probably they'll just continue with the episodic stories till the very end (the previews of this series aren't very informative so I can just guess), but as long as they keep the quality at this level I won't complain too much.
