Hello everyone,
Here we are, giving ourself a little break from the usual episodic posting to talk about a upcoming fall 2011 series that really get the first place in my heart together with Asairo!
I'm talking about Maji De Watashi ni Koi Shinasai, an anime series that is going to get adapted this fall based on a visual novel by Minato-soft of great success back in 2009. It was the most sold visual novel of the whole 2009 based on Getchu data, it was quite an hit overcoming even titles like Mashiro Iro Symphony and Tayutama FD.

Let's start with a synopsis picked from the net :
Kawakami City is famous for its strong dedication to its samurai ancestors. A strong fighting spirit is always valued and it's even an important factor in succeeding in school there.
Yamato, a second year student from Kawakami Highchool is always with his close friends (4 boys and 3 girls). They have known each other since they were young and have done loads of things together. They have many other friends, but this seven people is a close-knit group, they even have a secret base where they meet...
The series is set in the same world of Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de, another nice Minato-soft work ruined by a bad adaptation that we talked again in the past, with some overlapping minor cast. (mostly cameo appearance anyway)
The story is the most simple you can find out there revolving around the normal, but very special school life of Naoe Yamato in this world a lot resembling the one of some old-school battle animes. The whole atmosphere of this world is positive and light, there is no excessive drama, but some particular scenes are touching. (especially the true route last bits and the story revolving Kazuko)

I can't explain how this visual novel gained such a great recognition around me and many others. The story started a little slow, with the first route I played (Momoyo) decent, but nothing exceptional. (Even thought I honestly liked the final battle of this route in which Momoyo faces three of the strongest people on earth together without much problems.)
After that, as soon as the powerful and almost invincible Momoyo steps down, the story really start up. All the other routes (I played them in the order Kazuko, Miyako, Yukie and Christiane before going into the true end) were really fantastic, I was impressed by the fact that, after a rather short introduction, the story branch so deeply when choosing one or another girl giving the writer plenty of time to introduce new details of the world and totally new events to explore without rushing too much.
No simple icha icha in the specific routes, but plenty of story developments, battles, twists, etc...

The best route and girl in my opinion is Yukie (I want 100 friend) Mayuzumi (shown in the wallpaper right up this text) together with her "talking" doll. Apart from being the most beautiful, she's timid and obedient, but damn scary when angry with her sword, even the monster Momoyo said that "she is going to be dangerous even for me as soon as she grows up".
What route will this adaptation follow? That is a nice question! Probably the true ending route picking new stuff from the other routes making a big route covering the whole original work, but that's actually more my hope than my prediction.

The only problem I can see with this adaptation is that is going to be produced by a new company named Lerche with only a single OAV series (Carnival Phantasm based on the Fate/Stay Night world that by the way I'm also very interested into) as experience that together with a rather green seiyuu cast create in me some fear in expecting too much from this anime.
Fortunately we're going to have a fandisk of this series this 2011 named "Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai! S" as far as I read on the official website with many new routes and story, so there is still plenty of hope for those who, like me are in love with the characters of this series.

I'm hoping they'll adapt this into a 24/26 episode anime series to be able to keep up with the great storyline built in the visual novel. (Any less and big chunks of the story would need to be skipped)
That's all for now, but I hope to have instilled in you some interest in this series!
See you soon,
