Hello everyone,
Here we are for yet another rambling about the latest episode (16th of the series) of Steins Gate that aired today and confirmed my suspicions that in the end we would end up back into the original timeline (pretty much as the numbers are slightly different), but with a sad expression on our face.
Mayuri is saved from that horrible destiny (the hour in which she died passed without any problem), but this victory comes at a grave price for Okabe Rintarou. He, anyway, made the right decision to prioritize his loved Mayuri over everything else.

I can really relate with the tears he dropped when watching Mayuri sleeping peacefully on the bed (by the way, she was extremely cute when sleeping), especially after that hellish experience of watching her die and die again for countless times...
The price they had to pay for Mayuri's life and wellbeing is Suzuha Amane's existence and Kurisu Makise's life even though this latter part is still a supposition as we don't really know what happen to her other than the fact that she never become a lab member.
The goodbye between Suzuha and his father (yes, Daru is the father) right before she goes in the past was really emotional and everything that happened right after...Well, you can wonder, She failed and she suicided without being able to do anything due to problems with the time machine!

After Okabe finally use the D-Mail again, he manage to change this allowing her to use properly the time machine that night and go back to the intended place with a working time machine. We don't know what she has done or achieved in the past, but for sure she did know about everything and did not lose the memory this second time.
Now what will happen? I think Okabe will now get some information about Christina's position (if she's still alive) and will try to take her back as lab member or stop her from becoming a member of CERN...
...but to be honest I'm quite clueless at this point, maybe because my main wish was made true. Mayuri is alive, who cares about the rest!

This show is surely keeping up great standards of quality and day by day I grow more interested in how they'll be able to close all the pending sub-plots...
See you soon,
