Hello everyone,
Today we'll talk again about Ro Kyu Bu, a summer season series, after I finally managed to watch the first two episodes today as probably someone noticed on Twitter.
I have to say that I was really positively impressed by the start of this series because they've been able to show, under the veil of fanservice, the same kind of direction of Astarotte no Omocha in terms of social drama and general story focus.

The first episode started with a general explanation of the reasons the club of the main lead has been disbanded and why he is going to teach these girls how to play basketball, but before delving into the story let's talk about those girls.
They all looks and acts nothing like childrens that age, especially Maho with her otaku culture, Airi with her big body (in every regards) and Saki with her mature personality. Fortunately all of them are extremely likable and will likely get in everyone's heart before this series end...
In the second episode they finally show the human side of our protagonist (even if I have to be honest, I can't relate with the pain of having their club disbanded so it was a bit uneffective over me) that end up joining as coach of the team in order to save their club from disbanding.

I still can't believe Tomoka Minato had that kind of personality in the past! Also all that confessing will likely make her be the future "love" interest of our male lead, but I'm not sure how this will go on as their age difference is well 4 years. (But I would be happy to see them end up together to be honest)
My favourite character at the moment is Maho Misawa, her energetic personality and will is incredibly funny to watch. Also, her voice is the same as Index, so I can't stop think she'll jump and bite our main lead at any moment...
Ah forgot to say, the male basketball team is very lame to be honest! Their clothes mainly, what's up with that children's school nowadays?! (They do have a nice role as evil enemies to defeat though...)

I'm very impressed by the graphical quality of the series, by the design of all the girls and by the generally stable animation except some weird problem in some scenes! I'll be keeping an eye on this studio for future works!
Also loving both Opening and Ending songs, especially the OP song named "Shoot!" song by the Ro-Kyu-Bu that reminds me a lot the style of song used as OP/ED for Bamboo Blade. (Oh, I'm getting nostalgic I know...)

I'll be keeping an eye on this series future episodes for sure and hope it will keep up with this kind of quality. (The older sister of the male lead is too Meme-like, wanna take her home!
)
If you're still on the fence, give it a try!
See you soon,
