Hello everyone,
Let's go ahead with covering another series that I started watching recently that is part of the summer season 2011. I'm talking about "The Idolmaster", the second adaptation (this time true to the original work fortunately) of an original game very famous in Japan.
I was very sceptic before watching the first episode of this series due to the really bad experience I had with Idolmaster Xenoglossia, the other adaptation that we talked about in this blog already. Watching the same characters in a more light and better developed environment sure was interesting even if their personalities looks really different in this work.

Let's start with a synopsis :
The arduous struggle of the 13 girls from Talent Production 765 who dream of one day becoming idols in the competitive Japanese entertainment industry.
Oh, its rare to be able to understand the concept of the series straight from a single line synopsis. Yes, the series is as easy as that and follow our new protagonist, a producer trying his best to promote these promising new "idols" in the entertainment world.
I am interested by the position this producer will have in the idols life. (romance anyone?) By the way the producer sure looks like Yuuto from Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu as far as graphics goes...

The first episode followed a really nice concept very similiar to a game one with the protagonist (masked as a cameraman) unvoiced till the very end following the everyday life of these girls while filming from behind the camera. The girls, by the way, were totally unaware of his position as producer.
It was refreshing and very light-looking to see these girls act and behave normally in a very chaotic environment. Yes, because I have to say that they really looks everything, but idols from the so-natural talking we see in this episode!

This first episode is anyway merely a way to present us the characters that will appear in the story and the real meat will start from next week now that our protagonist will take an active role in the storyline.
I'm really interested in how they'll play out the story, but I hope they'll not go down the drain with an idiotic "Lemon Angel Project" kind of drama plot. I'd prefer this series to keep the whole light-hearted feeling they delivered with the first episode.

We have pretty much everything to make this series a successfull one with plenty of great seiyuu in both primary and secondary role. (Even if i'm in love with the voice of the newcomer Mayako Nigo that has a role as the lovely Yayoi Takatsuki)
The only dark point I can see is the animation, it wasn't really great as first episode in this regard, but I hope they'll be able to improve in the following episodes.

I'll be keeping an eye on this series, but I'm not sure I'm going to blog this regularly. It will depends on how much the characters will entice me likely...
See you soon,
