Hello everyone,
Here we are for another quick impression over a series that started its run in this hot summer 2011 and of which I watched the first episode just yesterday evening. The series is named Yuruyuri and is based on an original manga work by Namori.
Strangely (or maybe it simply shows the real expectation behind watching this series
) many, even big, publications like ANN picked up this series as "Yuriyuri" that while an appropriate name due to the yuri undertones of the series was not exactly correct. I remember laughing hard on that ANN post months ago, but unfortunately they corrected it only hours later.

Let's start with a synopsis :
The club room of the defunct Tea Ceremony Club has been taken over by a 4-person group calling themselves “The Amusement Club”. Everything is calm in their life until the student council decide to reclaim the room used without permission...
Ok, the story starts off as a slice of life one, but quickly shift to a comedy intensive approach a lot reminiscent of the Seitokai Yakuindomo approach with simple jokes that just works! I mean, there are no particular reference jokes or obscure stuff like Lucky Star and similiar series, just plain laughs for all of us.
The whole world of this series is shown as a classic peaceful comedy world, even more resounding with the great cute graphic style of every Namori work that takes us far enough from the real world. (I enjoy a lot more comedy series with a colorful / cute design than with a realistic one)

The animation quality isn't the best as all the Dogakobo works, but at least they managed to keep the cute look of the girls the same after the switch from manga to anime!
The voiceover quality is pretty good (loving Shiori Mikami's role as Akari Azawa) even if the cast is not the most famous, especially the one doing the main four girls. There are some famous seiyuu (Emiri Katou or Aki Toyosaki for example), but only in supporting roles.

About the title of this post...what to say, I only watched four of the series of this new season and all of them included at least a loli as main character, am I the only one watching this as an upward trend in this regard in the last couple of seasons? Or is it really a cute conspiracy?
Anyway, this series is one of the guaranteed to be in my watch list every week if they manage to keep even half of the jokes quality they shown in the first episode!
See you soon,
