Hello everyone,
Here we are for yet another preview, this time we'll talk of an anime series that is going to be aired from the 7 July 2011 (slated for 12 episodes) in this summer season named "Mayo Chiki!", based on a light novel with the same name that focus on Butlers and...well, reverse traps.
First of all let's remind everyone that the graphic of the light novel is done by the wonderful artist "Seiji Kikuchi", better known as the artist behind the visual novels in the Baldr series (for example Baldr Sky that I really liked as game). I really don't know why they decided to forget about his cute style he built to go on a more "fanservice prone" look for the girls.
I mean, they looks like different person althogether...

Let's start with a synopsis :
The story revolves around the life of a 17 year old young man named Subaru Konoe, who is the butler of one of his classmates, Kanade Suzutsuki. The story has a dramatic turn when a boy named Kinjiro Sakamachi discovers Subaru's well-protected secret: that "he" is actually a girl.
Ok, let's be honest. This looks and feels like a "Ladies Vs Butlers" redux with a different cast and hopefully less chubbiness than the original one. (Seriously, I couldn't stand the graphical style of that anime)
The story is simple enough and will focus on the comedy moments after our protagonist discover the true Subaru and is involved in the life of this rather cute "butler" (Hell, in the anime graphics she's more sexy than cute to be honest) and maybe around a bit of drama regarding the past of this girl and the reasons that took her to the "butler" profession.
The animation production is from "Feel" that unfortunately does not have a very nice past with production filled with graphical problems like Shikabane Hime (and sequel). Let's hope they'll be able to keep the quality decent enough this time.

From the seiyuu standpoint we have many big names like Eri Kitamura in Kanade's role, Yuka Iguchi in Subaru's role and even our Kana Hanazawa in a minor role as Kureha Sakamachi so there is hope for a great time at least from the sound side.
I'm rather positive on the outlook of this series as a comedy/fanservice one, let's just hope Feel will be able to keep the production quality high enough for the characters to shine.
See you soon,
