Hello everyone,
From today I'll start with a couple of preview of the incoming Summer season series like I've done in the past for a couple of spring season anime series. Today we'll talk about a rather promising anime series named Ro Kyu Bu talking about a elementary school basketball club spiritually succeeding Astarotte no Omocha in the "loli" department. (which by the way I have to complete to blog sooner or later)
Let's start with a synopsis :
Subaru Hasegawa is a high school freshman, he joins the basketball team but soon finds out the team is inactive because the captain is being suspected as a lolicon. He miraculously is entangled with the job of being the coach of an elementary schools basketball team. With these girls and their love for basketball Subaru will have a hard time getting acknowledged by each of them.
Let's be honest, the premise makes greatly clear that the pivotal point of this adaptation will be the word "comedy" and "moè" especially after giving a look at the character design of both light novel (more mature and detailed) and anime (more childish, reminiscent of Mitsudomoe childish style, but a lot cuter)!

As you know, I liked a lot Softenni and I'm waiting to understand if this can take its place as my relax anime of this season, but I'm fairly confident over it, especially knowing the big popularity of this work that got well two manga adaptation of the original light novel (that is by the way at seven volumes)
As a negative side this adaptation will be covered by three rather unkown studios that have partecipated as low profile helpers in various other productions like Bakemonogatari. The real question is "Will they be able to maintain a consistent quality through the whole series?".

On the positive side instead we have a great cast of seiyuu working on this project. Starting from Kana Hanazawa in Tomoka Minato's role, Mamiko Noto as Nayu Hasegawa's role, Shizuka Itou in Mihoshi Takamura's role, Yoko Hikasa in Saki Nagatsuka's role and many others.
By the way, did you notice how Kana Hanazawa's primary roles are increasing in a exponential way in these last couple of years? I'm very happy for both her career and my enjoyment as I love her voice after all!

What else to say? This is a one of my most anticipated series of this season and I hope it will keep up the expectation. (I plan to get the manga as well if the anime gets good enough)
See you soon,
