C - Control - Hanabi?! Where are you? No, not you Masakaki!

Hello everyone,

Here we are for our final rambling for this rather original series named "C : The Money of Soul and Possibility Control" that with the 11th episode finally end, giving us our happy end......or not?!

No, there isn't much of an happy end to be honest in this series if we think really about it. Let's go analyzing the ending in detail!

C : The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

The episode start with Mikuni and Yoga fighting between themselves using whatever they can. Mikuni has the upper hand for the initial part of the episode due to sheer money power, but after the superinflation takes its toll Q lose most of its power and the battle return to be more "fair"!

The battle by itself was fast paced and very good, the problem I have is with the very low quality animation that plagued this last episode. Did they finish the budged right on the last episode?! (Let's hope of some re-design in the dvd version)

C : The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

I laughed when after Yoga finally gains the upper hand, the Midas Bank goes bankrupt disabling all the powers of the two contenders! (They likely tried to make the Mikuni defeat more human, by not making him lose in battle, but on the ideals he carry)

After the battle is finished and Yoga invert the press to return the future to the japanese people we get a glimpse of the upper world through a little scene with the boss Saint Masakaki and the army of little Masakaki, each for every region! They did give us the impression that they're not really EVIL, but I still don't understand what are their REAL objectives of doing this "game".

The world is restored like it was and everything ended, Yoga sits down in a bench and for a second though he saw Hanabi, in that short moment Masakaki appear again mocking him again like the old times. Yes, Because the Midas bank is now back to business as there is future in the country to feed off and Masakaki remind Yoga that he is always listening and if he want they can sign another contract. Will this time the people be more smart and avoid signing a contract with the most lovely devil of all times? Laughing

C : The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

Why this is not an happy ending? Well, no Hanabi x Yoga pairing, Masakaki is still on the loose, the bank is still active and all the countries that disappeared are simply forgotten about focusing only on Japan...

Anyway yes, there are plenty of unanswered question leaved from this series. What is exactly [C]? Will Yoga and MY Hanabi marry or not? What are exactly the Masakakis? And the upper world is where?! But well, maybe it is better this way without trying to stuff too many information in the last episode and leaving much of it to the viewer to think about.

C : The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

Concluding, this series has been solid and while the story wasn't the most clear or straightforward I did have a VERY enjoyable time watching it so I suggest this series to anyone looking for a battle series with a somewhat different approach than the normal shounen one.

See you soon,

P.S. By the way, both Mashu and Hanabi are MINE! Yell

Thanks for this, your summary definitely helped to clear things up a bit.

I'll need to rewatch this again to further stamp the details in my brain, but this did a lot to help make that process clearer.

Good luck. I have to rewatch this as well to get some more details in the future.

Anyway another question I forgot is...What is the destiny of Mikuni? He disappeared and...?! That part is left unanswered as well.

We may need an spin-off of this series entirely centered around them...wouldn't it be wonderful?! :]

Yeah, it's not a happy ending but I guess that's the best way to end this anime.

Bittersweet ending, which I don't mind for the most part. I'm more upset at how the series has left a lot of questions unanswered, but I guess there's only so much 11 episodes can tell.

This series would've gained from a couple more episodes (13 maybe?), but well we have to bear with it as I see really difficult to get any other anime work on this story...even thought I'd really want to see where the hell is gone Mikuni after the battle...

Whoa, that's a pretty awesome analysis. I definitely agree with having a smoother battle/action would help this episode alot, but then again [C] was never truly about the fights in the beginning. Here are some of my hypothesis about the the ending and the series in general:

First, it would seem that the financial district is perhaps something made from a superior being. Masakaki said "I can barely follow your whims" and danced around like a mad man during the destruction and he did, time and time, point he is merely following the orders from above. Judging from the saint Masakaki who said "No matter how wicked or tragic, (the struggles) all leads humanity to a better place".

Personally I found this part to be quite "ehhh?". We never got to find out what the assets really meant, in particular Mashu. The whole entrepreneur system was interesting, but in the end was overshadowed by a very abstract, forced punchline.

After the ending song, I believe we are shown a world that is entirely new. The currency used was something that is definitely not yen (US dollars iirc). We saw Japan glow with the odd "happy bubbles" earlier in the episode and it can mean either: Japan has disappeared as an effect of the closing of the Midas Bank/Financial District OR Japan changed into this magical country filled with "future". I'm guessing the former is implied, and the new world is somewhere (heaven?) or even some timeline different than before.

Anyways this sure was a pretty vague but ambitious anime, I don't dislike it though. I just wish, very much wish, we got to see more Hanabi
. FFFUUUUU.

Yeah, Masakaki is clearly only a pawn or maybe a clown like his clothes style suggest.
Saint Masakaki is...no clue...He got too little screen time to show anything. It may well be another pawn of something even bigger to be honest.

To me its clear that Japan is still alive (maybe recreated after the futures are restored or in a different timeline) and full of future available to be traded for money again if the humans will need it...

Ahahahah, Looks like I'm not alone then in the "WE NEED MORE HANABI!" shout.

It's an ending about him winning the battle, but not the war. Ultimately, Masakaki will be there whenever large scale financial problems are going on to help bail things out... for a price.
Much like real world economics, situations that aren't ideal can be averted but not ultimately kept from happening.

I thought it was alright. Not really what I felt it would lead up to, nor what I wanted it to, but it's ended and over with. I can't say I'm satisfied or happy with the result, but it was a fun little watch that occasionally made me think.

This series is leaved pretty much open in all senses, many questions that won't get an answer.
Now I'm expecting a manga to appear so that it may shed some light on the more obscure results of the ending!

More Masakaki!!! More Hanabi!
