Hello everyone,
Here we are for the last time to talk about the anime series Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai as today I finally watched the last episode that gived us the most definitive and complete ending we could get.
If you haven't watched the last episode and don't want to get spoiled don't read after this line... (even if actually the ending was really prevedible and everyone was thinking about it already)
Yes, Menma disappear leaving all of them. The emotional crescendo in this episode continue from the last episode and reach new levels in which a lot is explained. From Poppo past as he saw the scene where Menma died back in those times, to Tsuruko that tried hard to get more near Yukiatsu, little by little all the details are remembered and the series rushes to the finale in which Menma disappear temporarily from the eyes of everyone.
I actually liked how they managed the emotional build up with the running around in the forest, shouting and crying for the whole duration of it.
If I have to say anything bad is the reason they choose to let Menma return into this world after all these years that is the promise with Jintan's mother to make Jintan cry...and hell if she managed to do it by both dying, appearing and then leaving everyone once and for all...who wouldn't cry if his own loved one die?!
The final scene with Menma was incredibly done with the letters written by Menma to all of them (with her last remaining power) and the hide and seek scene in which finally all of them see Menma for a short period of time before she disappear...
After Menma disappear we get a glimpse of the new life of our characters and I found somehow refreshing to see that the pairs Jintan/Anaru and Tsuruko/Yukiatsu are both still together hinting that they're probably a couple. (while Poppo continue to work with a smile on his face)
I have also to admit that the "Aoi Shiori" song at the end of the episode was a good shot and given a good sense of closure to the series.
What else to say?
I'm satisfied with this series and I suggest it to anyone who is looking for a drama series...
