Hello everyone,
Here I am right after watching the 10th episode of Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai that simply blazed me away with the great quality of both pacing and storytelling even if the actual content of the story was for most parts predictable.
Let's go over the new info step by step! First of all we finally get some spotlight (even if too little in my opinion) for both Poppo and Tsuruko. The first remembering his own past that wasn't the most happy and the second finally starting to show real emotions.

Yes, THAT Tsuruko does show emotions in this episode, it was quite out of the blue, but still very well done. We finally get to know her feelings for Yukiatsu and we get a glimpse of her cute and jealous behaviour. I'll be honest, she was quite hated by me before this episode, but she jumped straight to the second place after this episode.
Great care is given to the finishing touch on the Menma's family issues that with this episode mark their final appearance I think while leaving the last episode to focus on the childhood friends and finishing the story.

I also liked the way the put an end to the story that "caused" the Menma's death with that creepy representation in which Jintan finally expressed his own feelings for Menma making Anjou lose basically all the chances of ever getting with him unless they pull some 180° turn-back in the last episode.
The dramatic crescendo in the final couple of minutes regarding Jintan's inner emotions was literally a piece of art, it has been quite some time that a series managed to keep me attached to the monitor even knowing what will happen right from the start.

I do get some bad vibes from some scenes in this episode, especially the Menma/Jintan's Mother scene in which they talk about reincarnation in differents forms like in a flower...why that option looks so plausible especially given the name of this whole series?
I do still hope for a good ending for the Menma/Jintan pair, but somehow in the bottom of the heart I do feel that this will be a bittersweet ending made by separations...

From today onward I enter no-spoiler mode for this series until I get to watch the last episode, I expect much from this series and I don't it to be spoiled right at the end.
See you soon,
