Hello,
Here we are talking about the 9th episode of the original anime series "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai" that is now approaching the ending after an incredible start (It was really mind-blowing to be honest) and some cool-off after reaching mid-point with the lame last episode that we talked about last week.
Yes, the series is coming to an end as there are only two episode remaining to air for a total of 11 episodes, a little less than a normal one season series...
...but the plot doesn't seem to have any kind of progress as for the time being unless you can call the "oh, I can write and move objects, but I tried hard avoid to do it while you were here for 8 episodes! E-he!" a progress.
The mistery regarding Menma wish is still a mistery (at least for us viewers), and the whole cast is working hard to do fireworks that weren't anyway the real Menma's wish at least basing on Yukiatsu's words on a recent episode while he was talking with Tsuruko.
There is no indication or information about how Menma managed to appear to their friends and about why she is visible only to Jintan, nor much information about HOW she died in the first place many years ago. There are various slight fragments of flashback, but nothing really definite.
Nevertheless, I still get attracted to the series plot and characters interaction (especially liking the Tsuruko-Anjou-Yukiatsu triangle relationship) and I decided to continue to follow it till the end and wait for the conclusion before expressing a definitive judgement over this series.
Maybe they'll manage to pull off a good and conclusive ending even with only two episodes of material left even if I'm really scared of a possible bittersweet ending not resolving many of the questions they created in our minds during these first nine episodes...
Let's brace for the final run of this anime then...and let's hope for a not-too-sad ending!
