Hello everyone,
Here we are for the post I was waiting to prepare from quite a while. Yes, the May/June manga order is here after a week of shipment and we can start talking about the many new series I picked up.
Due to the big number of series (12 this time) I decided to split this post into two episode, one today and one tomorrow each with sixth series covered. Let's get started!
Yes, continuing from a rather positive experience with the first four volumes of the 4-coma manga series Seitokai Yakuindomo (you can see the full review in its own category in this blog), here we are with the fifth volume featuring as cover the ero-teacher following the student council.
The quality of the artwork isn't the best out there, but it's well covered by plenty of quality comedy and jokes. As all the 4-coma series, its nice to kill time when you don't have enough will to invest in a serious story.
And here we are with a new entry in my bookcases, the manga series written and illustrated by Tamura Mitsuhisa named "Yellow Dragon ga Arawareta".
The premise isn't the most original with the classic girl that appear out of nowhere, but I decided to pick it up due to the nice quality of the artworks and the will to change a little my mangas genres to cover more fantasy/adventure series!
After a while, here we are again with my dose of DESPAIR. Finally I catched up with the serialization of the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei manga written by Kougi Kumeta, a series that probably need very little presentation due to the 3+1 anime season already aired and great popularity.
A nice change in the manga is the fact that from the volume 18 onward, all the cover are from the many girls in the series instead of Nozomu.
A move to appeal more to the moè world? We'll see soon enough as I plan to read these volumes soon enough!
This is one of my most awaited series of this shipment, with the incredibly cute graphical design here we have Sankarea written and illustrated by Hattori Mitsuru that talks about zombies, but be careful. The cute kind of zombies as clearly shown by the zombie in the cover image of all three volumes!
The classic romantic comedy in my opinion, but interesting enough to warrant a buy. I'll start to read this one this night!
This is a series that I was planning to drop as in the long run was becoming boring with the poor quality material (story-wise at least as the graphical one is still very good), but in the end I decided to complete it as soon as I knew that I was just missing the last two volumes.
While this is not a suggested series to start for anyone who isn't a fan of the anime, I still liked many of the characters of this series so it still has a special place in my heart. (Especially Ayame Ikaruga!)
And in the end we have another fantasy series named Misumaruka and written by Hayashi Tomoaki, that I picked up that for the great graphical style and rather interesting approach to the storyline.
The story looks like the most classic hero story that while clichè, may give us some surprise. I'm keeping an eye on the other work of this same author, and I may end up picking up that too if this turns out to be good.
That's all for today! Tomorrow we'll go over the other six series I picked up with some other surprise series out there!
See you soon,
