Hello everyone,
And here I am after a marathon of the first five episodes of "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai", an anime series currently in airing that we talked about in the previous post.
I was genuinely impressed with the overall quality of a series that is able with its great storytelling to involve the viewer and leave him wanting (or well, maybe CRAVING is a better word) for more.

The incredible thing is that this is one of the few series that I've watched in the last years to be focused on delivering a realistic story with realistic characters and personality and succeding in developing a story that people want to hear about creating somehow a link between you and their lives.
I'm loving the slow pace of the story, even thought it will probably accelerate in the following episodes as the main characters are all explored and "reunited".

After the last couple of episodes, I'm not really sure that the Menma wish is just "for everyone to be unite again", but there has to be something else running around in the whole situation like Poppo said. What can be Menma reason for coming back after all those years?
Also, all the characters have followed a tsun - dere pattern starting nervous and unfriendly with our main character, but softening up right after making me think even more that Menma wish must be something else. Something that is somehow linked to their past.

I have also many questions on how Menma really died. I can wonder that's by falling down while following Jintan, but the whole story is still too foggy to give up a full clear vision of the happening. Hopefully will be explored in detail in the following episodes.
Another great thing about this show is the fact that most of the times your prediction falls off like with Yukiatsu crossdressing (you can see a joke wallpaper right under this text) that to be honest was the least thing I expected from the situation, but somehow I can empathize with him due to the great trauma received.

I'm also slowly adapting to the graphical style and I'm ending up liking a lot also Anaru even thought she can't stand a competition with Menma...
How do I rate this series? Well, if the story continue in this way, this may well be one of the best drama series of the last years by great lengths (there is almost nothing comparable to the quality they showed till now), but unfortunately unless it has an happy ending for Menma too I can't really value it high on my rankings. (I am a sucker for good endings)

But well, what we can do is only wait for the next episode hoping for more great content! As for me, I'm going to write down the name of the script writer / scenario writer and keep a look on his works.
See you soon,
