Hello everyone,
Today after I received the new sound card I was finally able to continue watching normally anime and I decided to start the ongoing series "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai" that somehow passed through my radar due to the "drama, tragedy" word in it that simply isn't my favourite genre.
Well, I was shocked by the incredible quality of this story that was able to grip me right from the beginning of the first episode till the emotional ending of it (that open the road to the future storyline that I'll probably watch right from tomorrow evening)

Let's pick up a synopsys :
Five childhood friends grow apart after the death of Meiko Honma, close playmate of them all. Jinta Yadomi, leader of the group when they were kids, neglects high school and lives as a shut-in when he unexpectedly starts seeing the ghost of Meiko, who can only interact with him and no one else. She has returned to ask Jinta to fulfill the forgotten wish she made as a kid.
Ok, the story may not look the best one from a simple synopsis, but I really can't explain how this series manage to get you inside the characters life and well, attract you to hear more about it.

The six main characters personality are very definite and different in the way they reacted to the death of Menma that will probably be explored in detail later on, but one thing is sure.
Menma (Meiko Honma) is the extremely cute and I'm loving her seiyuu (Ai Kayano) even thought she is mostly a newcomer in the job (she voiced Isana from Yumekui Merry). She is by far the best character graphically speaking of this series and probably the best in my rankings for much time to come.

If I have to criticize something is the art direction, somehow just doesn't feel right. I plainly hate all the female design except for the Menma one. Also the animation quality isn't the best with many errors right from the first episode. (not that I was expecting much by A-1 Pictures)
Well, what do I expect now? Well, probably we'll need a couple of filler/introduction episodes and then we'll start to cover the real meat of the story that is "How Menma died?" and "What is her wish?".
I am a little scared to be honest as I can only see a "she got her wish and she disappear happy" ending that would be very sad to face...but well we'll see soon enough.

I'm going to put this in the queue for more post in the future as soon as I manage to catch up with the airing.
See you soon,
