Hello everyone,
Here we are for yet another new review, this time of a series that really shocked me for the difference between what I expected and what I got. I'm talking about Astarotte no Omocha based on an original work by Yui Haga.

Let's start with a synopsis :
While job hunting, Naoya is taken by a mysterious girl to a magical land where he is installed in the harem of the succubus Queen Lotte. Thanks to trauma from her childhood, Lotte hates men and surrounds herself with lots of other women, who all have quirks of their own. In spite of her selfishness, when Naoya learns that Lotte is really quite lonely he agrees to stay in her world...if he can bring his daughter Asuha with him.
Ok, you read this and you'll probably expect a rather mature fanservice driven series with some busty succubus as main character...

...well, that's wrong, the two main girls of this series are both succubus and both as loli as you can possibly get with both Asuha and Lotte fighting in a crescendo of cuteness that will probably let you die by moè overload at the end of each episode.
But please don't go expecting a serious or even credible plot from this series as this series is after all fanservice/comedy driven! (just that I expected a different kind of fanservice to be honest)

The characters are few at the moment and mostly mono dimensional being always very true to their stereotypical personality. I do not expect any kind of emotional growth by this series.
My favourite character is the cute Lotte that with her cuteness and the Kugimiya voice is just my type of character! (nice second for Judit with her serious and somehow S personality)

The graphical quality is very good with one of my most liked girls style ever. I just love how the girls looks cute in this series, especially Lotte and Asuha. The animation is decent at the moment, but I'm on my guard on this as the studio working on this series has some bad old work in their portfolio.
The sound quality is top notch with many great seiyuu working on this project like Rie Kugimiya in Lotte's role, Yukari Tamura in Asuha's role, Yui Horie as Elfleda and many others.

What more to say on this series? Well, if you like watching cute girls doing cute things with a succubus background (that as you know may get things a little hectic due to their way to survive) this is your pick of this season. I'll be watching this series as well and may return on it in the future for another post.
See you soon,
