Hello everyone,
Here we are for another rambling over a series I just watched the first couple of episodes and that while pretty simple it has some potential for the future episodes. I'm talking about A Channel based on an original work (4coma) by bb Kuroda.

Let's start with a synopsis :
Series about four friends; Tooru who has just entered the same high school as her best best and childhood friend Run, who is now a second year, and Run's friends Yuuko & Nagi in their daily lives. Tooru takes a test so she can enter the same high school as Run, the girl she likes. She passes, but when she goes to tell Run, she finds her hugging a girl she's never seen before.
Oh, the old classic slice of life style reeks from this series episodes (at least for now), everything is focused over the simple/normal life of these four girls.

The stories is very simple like all the slice of life series, but I found myself multiple times laughing out loud like with the no-pan scene of Run/Tooru and the continue abuse by Tooru over Yuuko.
What are you asking? If there is something that can make stand out over the other series?
No really there isn't anything, this series is simple and mostly clichè, but that's the good point of it. (if you want to relax, you won't go watching Madoka Magica after all in my honest opinion)

The characters are very few (at least for now, the main one are just the four girls with some random unnamed random people around), but very well defined and it is pretty difficult to not remember about them for their special characteristics.
For example Run's air-headed personality, Tooru's bat and sleeves, Yuuko's abused position and big rack and well....yes, maybe Nagi has no particular trait to be honest, but being the only other character you end up remembering her too.

My favourite character till now is Tooru with her protective attitude toward Run trying to save in every situation (well, Run is capable of running into a car while following a butterfly...so she really need some help) and little cute body.
Nice second for Yuuko with her gentle personality unfortunately continually attacked by Tooru in every way possible.

The graphical style is pretty original and it will take some time to fully adapt to it, but the quality is very good. The animation looks fine till now, but we'll see if Studio Gokumi (a new studio with this as first full series) will be capable of maintaining consistency for the whole run.
The sound department has been good till now even if there are no famous seiyuu in the four main girls position (there is Minori Chihara and Daisuke Ono as some professor, but those are not main characters)

Concluding, we can expect some good time from this series and I'll continue to look at the future episodes and maybe wrap up a couple of more post as soon as the series start delivering something new.
See you soon,
